First of all, I love the hidden message in the first chapter: a show without its leading character won’t be the same. James Duff should have known that. I love that you wrote that into your story.
I also love the family aspect in the second chapter. They were a family - to each other and to us, the fans. I think our fandom is one big family where people from different places and walks of life come together to celebrate their love for a show, an actor or another medium. In my interpretation, that’s what your story is about. We all suffered the loss of Sharon’s character and many of us still grieve her, as well as the show that hooked us to the screen for 13 years. I’m glad Mary is alive and well and hopefully once COVID-19 is gone we’ll see her in new projects that will showcase her talent. I also miss and still can’t process Luke Perry’s tragic death. Many of us watched him as kids or teens in “Beverly Hills 90210” and later in other shows such as “Body of Proof”, “Major Crimes” and “Riverdale”. He was an integral part of the cast even when he was only a guest star. He had such a unique presence that immediately made you accept him as a part of the show’s family, no matter which show he was on. And I think this story is also a beautiful tribute to him, may he rest in peace. Thank you so so much for writing this important fic. It has so much meta but I think it’s also entertaining at the same time (Provenza sizing Andy up and Andy’s reaction was lol).
