Latarra chapter 11 . 7/30
I am really enjoying this story. I hope there's more.

I think the Whitney Houston song was "I will always love you" from the movie "The Bodyguard", and he put it on his phone after a breakup.
Saissa chapter 10 . 6/13
These so called rules that Tony mentiones between him and Tim, I think they are pack of lies. I think Tony is just saying them to keep Gibbs off his back. I do not like Tony, never have, never will, I think he will always be a frat boy and refuses to grow up. Just liek Senior who also refuses to grow up!

Same with Abby - she is too immature and hates change and wont grown up because she wants to stay like a little girl She is 40 plus years old! Seriously people. WHO in the world wants to stay a baby when they are 40! Tony and Abby have got to be MENTALLY ill and they both need to be removed from NCIS NOW!
Momcat chapter 11 . 5/10
Ducky is probably the only person who cared about McGee and occasionally helped him all those years in the team, although he didn't show it much. Does Tim even has caring parents in this story ? I have the feeling that it isn't the case since he refused to inform them about his accident. As always Gibbs "assumed" that he had caring parents, he ignored his own rule when it came to Tim. He didn't even bother to check on his past and family. I felt from his mumblings and calling Gibbs "dad" that poor Tim is craving for a paternal love but can't bring himself to openly admit it to the others. I really hope that Tim will remember quickly the way Abby mistreated, manipulated him and abused of his feelings towards her all those years. He already feels that's something is off with her. I don't remember much about all of Whitney Houston's songs but the one which comes to my mind is " I will Always Love You", the song she made for her film with Kevin Costner, The Bodyguard. I always found it very depressing, not mention the fact that I heard it getting played so many times on the radio and TV that I started to feel disgusted by it. Hope to see him care a little bit more about McGee in the future chapters. Take care.

I really liked how you dealt with the interactions in this chapter

this was an interesting chapter. Am very curious to see what happens next
DS2010 chapter 11 . 5/9
I love how Gibbs is always able to comfort his kids.
Gottahavemyncis chapter 11 . 5/9
I agree with your notes about Gibbs (considering I'm one of those authors, lol). I probably picked that up from Emerald1, SmartKid37, TawnyShyrell and the few others who were writing Tim-centric stories when I found this site.
Great chapter, glad that Tim is trying to see what will generate memories, although sorry that so far they haven't been happy ones. My photos are like that too, either no people or whoever I was with, until before I left on one trip, my dad asked for photos with me in them. Duh! That was before cell phone cameras and selfies.
Thanks!
earthdragon chapter 10 . 5/7
What on earth is the matter with Tony? So Tim had lied when he said he didn't have a middle name - so what? All that means is that Tim has been burdened with a name that he detests and which is probably so embarrassing that he was probably bullied about it at school. He won't be the first or last child who has been given an appalling name by his parents (just think about all those unfortunate children with celebrity parents - Apple Paltrow springs to mind). It is ridiculous that Tony feels 'bitter' and just shows how petty he is. I disagree that Gibbs sounds like the 'bad guy'. On the contrary, he is being responsible and caring as he is finally saying that the 'pranks' at work are inappropriate (and unprofessional), which is more than I can say about Tony, who persists in assuming things which actually aren't true.

As for Jethro pulling on his lead and not obeying commands, it's probably because he is unfamiliar with Tony and senses that he doesn't want to be with him. Jethro was trained by the Navy to be obedient and I doubt that he behaves so badly when he is with Tim or Gibbs.

Re the safe passcode, Tim probably automatically remembered it because it is his birth date - November 19th, 1982. I'm no expert on amnesia, having never had it, but whilst there are some things I temporarily forget, my own birthday isn't one of them. Like many people, Tim used his anniversary as a passcode - not particularly secure perhaps, but easily memorable.
Momcat chapter 10 . 5/6
I have difficulty deciding if Tony is a jerk or a decent person because he changes his attitude all the time, one moment he scolds his amnesic partner for something he doesn't remember, the next moment he says that he considers him like a brother. It's hard to imagine Tim suggesting Tony to prank him. I could swear that it was Tony misunderstanding McGee because he wanted to hear only what he wanted. I'm glad that at least Gibbs understood the way he let down Tim so many times, and hope to see him support him more in the next chapters. I think that Tony is acting in an immature way by insisting to learn what the "F" means. Another inconsistency of the scenarists because they wrote the character without a middle name at first then decided to give him one in the later seasons. Be safe..
Momcat chapter 9 . 5/4
I'm glad that you included the Ziva/Gibbs scene here, it was good to see her at least mature and not get amused anymore by Tony's cruel pranks on Tim. I guess/hope that she started to have feelings for McGee, or maybe Tim put them into her head during their first conversation in that hospital room. It's amazing how, despite everything he sees and hears, Tony can be so selfish and have such a big mouth. Only he would make fun of an injured person. It's not surprising that McGee only remembers the negative things, especially concerning Tony since the good memories are rather rare with him. Not surprised that he doesn't remember going into Gibbs's house since he was there only three times max but he remembered the dinner at Ziva's. My greatest curiosity is how did Gibbs take out those boats out of the basement lol. I wold also love to know about the first Gibbs/McGee conversation in the hospital room. It would also be nice for Tim and dog Jethro bond again. Be safe..
mcgeeksgirl chapter 10 . 5/6
Liked Tony and Gibbs talk and surprised to hear Tony and Tim set boundaries with their pranks and insults. Loved Tony's instant response of "of course he's my brother". Hopefully Tim starts to get more memories back and he and Gibbs become closer from all this. Looking forward to Ziva return also.
earthdragon chapter 9 . 5/4
Juvenile though Tony is, he shouldn't be condemned for it, least of all by Gibbs. After all, Gibbs has allowed him to get away with such behaviour for years, rather than putting his foot down from the first and telling him to grow up and act his age. And re the dog CD incident, Gibbs is as much to blame as the others, as he went along with it and even made a (poor) joke about it. I don't recall any sympathy whatsoever being shown to a fellow team member who had just been injured, which just about fits in with the rest of the poor judgement during that particular case. For the sake of future friendships, I think it's best that they don't dwell on what happened that day, as it is in the past and isn't what Tim needs to focus on if he wants to restore his memory and regain his affection for Jethro.

I am curious about the lack of family photos in Tim's flat. Where are the photos of his parents, sister, grandparents and other relatives, not to mention photos from his college days? Does he even have any family still alive? If so, then they need contacting re Tim's amnesia, as they may be able to help, plus they need to know anyway. Tim may not want memories of his high school, but he was happy at MIT and John Hopkins, so surely would have photos of those days - unless he has them in an album somewhere.
Gottahavemyncis chapter 10 . 5/5
Yay! Thanks for dealing with that, very happy to know that T&T have own rules between them, that they're close enough to talk things out. And Gibbs knows now, too. Glad Tim's memory loss has shaken Gibbs out of his 'ostrich in the sand' way of thinking. Great chapter!
