The fandom toxicity getting to you?

As I recognized some of the 4th wall breaking stuff. (You wouldn't be the first author to, if you'll pardon the pun, burn out on the franchise, due to the toxicity. "Solvdrage" is another example.)

Irony being Miles Luna may voice Jaune Arc, but he does not write the character, precisely because of the SI accusations. These days it'll all Kerry with regards to Jaune. Previously Monty and Kerry.

Double irony being, if they'd turned (or kept depending on your pov) Jaune into Joan, the toxicity would probably be less, due to the Yuri shippers not ending up a frothing mess.

If it's any consolation, I don't think that this story premise is likely to happen in canon. More likely that Jaune will pull a Pyrrha to give Team RWBY their kill shot window on Salem. (And if we're lucky we might get a shot of Arkos reuniting in the afterlife.)

Thus fulfilling the hero trope with one of the protagonists, while the other stays alive to keep the Yuri fan base happy.

Yet probably still a kinder fate than him surviving and ending up in the "Invincible Girl" scenario. With so few seeing him for who he is. Just golddiggers out for money and fame.

And no SO to make life more appealing, beyond the heavy burden of Duty. Which will slowly grind him down as well

Still, wonder what else you got planned for this tidbit. As you mentioned a "Different Worlds" tie-in.
