I don't normally like these kind of AU's especially when they change major parts of how the setting works, but I absolutely love the way you write Samson and Filia's interactions. You strike a nice balance with their personalities, he comes off as caring but not soft and she comes off as gentle and apprehensive but potentially very capable. A fun story; I wouldn't mind reading more of it.
