Just beautiful

What a gorgeous story! I love reading fics of extra moments that can fit into what we already have from canon, and this is a beautiful example of that. You captured the tension from their awkward stage in 7b so well. I'm such a sucker for Harvey showing his sentimental side and his gift was just too perfect. And then Lily's gift, oh my god! Harvey's shyness at giving it to her, and the spontaneous cheek kiss, gave me all the feels and then you absolutely murdered my heart with the letter and Lily asking her to wait for him. Wow...so lovely and inspired, thank you for this beautiful story.

This was the perfect mix of hopeful and longing, being on the cusp of something but not quite tipping over. The writing was exquisite and the characterization perfect- I loved Harvey's gift, Lily's note, Donna's wanting but not knowing if she can give him more of her time than she already has. It's the perfect interlude and I can utterly believe this happened. So well done, I love it. Thank you so much! 3

I prompted this and fuck I love it so much. It's just been picked up and carried right out of the park on my expectations (which were nothing bc I honestly have no idea what to do with this prompt myself). Their characterisation reads so true and intimate but so perfectly distant and broken (brilliant post-Paula and 1000000% why I asked for that).

All those moments of pause, the lingering looks, the thoughts and hesitations the emotions just sitting right there under the surface but both of them too scared/stubborn to say anything. Ballpark analogy again. Right out of the stands, love. Just goddamn soaring.

LILY'S NOTE. UGH. I'M DEAD. I sat here tearing up and trying not to show it (bc public space) but damn, DAY-UM. I'm so curious to know if Harvey knew about the note, bc it feels like he doesn't. But, honestly that's a neither here nor there question just a random thing. I loved it. Lily read so heartfelt, so eager and honest, pleading for this person (Donna) to be patient for her son and I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEDDD THAT. I love that Donna has her own painting and I love even more that they do one day get married and they have both of those paintings hanging up in their home.

Thank you for something that felt both hopeful and depressing, that slots so beautifully into canon and was written with such a beautiful hand. It is a very merry Christmas for me!

Okay so maybe I shed a tear reading Lily’s letter, or two. But then I got to the last part where she hid the painting, I just cried. Why you making me sad.

This fic is so beautiful! You showed us perfectly how these two are too scared of their true feelings that only leaves them more and more confused! Ugh I love this so much. Can you maybe, just maybe turn this into a multi chap? Maybeeee until Donna gets to spend the Christmas with the Specters? ;)

That was perfect! Even though I wished for a happy ending within the story, I also love that it fits into canon. And we know they got their happy ending in the end. So beautifully written and such a unique idea - I loved it so much!
