I have to agree with the title. The Cursed Child was indeed a cursed plotline. Actually it was a really stupid plot of overused fandom clichés and the emo-state of "poor stifled child of great heroes"(oh wait that's a fanfic cliché right there) and stupidest examples of OOC of existing characters.
I got so annoyed with it that I refused to list all the overused clichés found in fanfics

I mean first they have Hermione be minister and forgetting her history. True to fanfic cliché of timetravel, its a super-version of an existing item, the time-turner that had pre-set limit of only one day. But suddenly, oh wow! this new experimental time-turner is such a improvement it's not just a bit more powerful is goes past one day limit, it can go back years! Decades even! (what? all experiments jumped from 1 day to decades, totally skipping weeks and months?) What does Hermione do with this experimental, super powerful time-turner? Why she locks it up in her office at the ministry. Same ministry she helped break into when she was in her 5th year. Not only that, but the spells on/in her office are easy to overcome by 4th year schoolboys that are not the best students. Why did Hermione become as incompetent as Fudge?

Biggest OOCs (on no particular order as they all are big and rival the other)
1- Cedric lost the tournament and blamed Durmstrang for the "humiliation" (of what? I thought they just disguised themselves as Durmstrang students and tripped Cedric) But because of this Cedric becomes a Death Eater? W_T_F o.O "A school that teaches dark magic embarrassed me, so I'm going to switch from being popular, kind-hearted kid to a cold-blooded killer that pratices dark magic!" … riiiight NOT
2- Hermione the entire crap of how not ending up with Ron meant Hermione became a bitter old maid who worked as a librarian? Talk about OOC. Those authors really didn't know the character and I'm surprised Rowling approved of the book considering how she made post-grad Hermione become a Mary Sue. Hermione loves books and does NOT need a man, esp. Ron who belittled her often, to define her happiness and give her drive to succeed.
3- Harry- he wished Albus wasn't is son in response to the brat's saying " I wish I wasn't your son". WTF

I always found Albus to be whiny brat that really annoyed me. But this story hits home why that is he has the worst traits of Ron and Petunia rolled into one being. While both had problem with complaining all the time, Ron was more of a whine while Petunia was bitter resentment. Ron was jealous and Petunia put her hate and resentment into badmouthing her sister. Now in Albus we have a whiny teen that's jealous of his own father's ability while he saw himself as mediocre (barely hanging on in classes) then would make bitter comments against his father.
Yeah I hated the character of Albus Severus Potter

Better than the actual plot of Cursed Child.
P.S. Too bad we never saw Malfoy's reaction on the article about Voldemort's plan to impregnate him.
