ok, question, never given birth and not really intending to: Can you really look at your newborn after birth and adore it? I mean, aren't they really slippery, squashed and actually rather ugly and their skin a funny colour? I am not trying to say kids aren't great, don't get me wrong, but directly after birth, they aren't exactly a beauty either. Friend of mine said he thought his baby daughter was a little orc at first until she got washed up and more ... well, adjusted to the world aka human looking.

Also, is this story prompted somehow? Because I read a similar story recently that touches at a lot of similar places as this one
