Tony probably figured what Steve wanted to talk about when he saw Scott. Scott was supposed to be “dusted” but was now there. It isn’t a stretch to say Tony figured out “oh, they want to talk about time travel.” I read somewhere that Tony tried to crack time travel for more than just one night, kinda proven by all his tests on his suits before using them. Tony didn’t like that they were going to try and talk about something that didn’t work, which also discourages him, but then he proved it did work later that night, I think that’s the timeframe at least. He then asked to keep his life (Morgan) and didn’t know he would die till the end of the Battle of Earth. Tony in Endgame was real MCU Tony in my opinion.
