Saint Sita chapter 21 . 7/25
I have been reading for a while & I gotta say that this chapter left me surprised. When you were comparing Shirley to iconic love superhero love interest you made a little mistake there. You see in the comics Steve Rogers Captain America iconic love interest is Sharon Carter not her Aunt Peggy. Sorry if I accidentally hurt your feelings it wasn't my intention.
DreamWeaverGod chapter 21 . 7/25
Mao: Noo! You can't kill me off quickly! I still have plot armor!
Joseph: Haha, puny man go fly

Glad to see a long chapter and some development going on. Not many CG fics wherein Shirley finds out and doesn't get geassed to hell.

Now to finish this review lemme just put in another meme.

Mao: Lands on driver's car
Driver: *Screams and crashes car*
Joe breaking the 4th wall: Now you know he dead!
yvonne.eevee22 chapter 1 . 7/15
I am glad the story gets more interesting and mysterious as the chapters go. Is euphie going to die? Nina actions and lelouch future. What Joseph will become? Schenizal interaction with Joseph? I cant wait.
guestleo chapter 20 . 7/9
Sigh I have to agree with you in your dislike of this arc. I never really understood why they used Shirley like this since it added uneeded drama to the plot. It is the same thing they did with Sayu in death note and honestly I always hated how both Shirley and Sayu were treated just to advance a certain plot element. Heck, it made better sense with Diethard taking Shirley's place (which he did in the film version) since it made no sense for him to run like he did in the series.
Zeromk7 chapter 20 . 7/9
Joseph is in rage mode. I hope Mao Is ready for getting smashed. GO JOSEPH, GO !

Vendre chapter 14 . 6/30

sleipnir34 chapter 19 . 6/16
Is mao going to be able to read joseph's mind. Also since joseph's wandering around will mao be able to see him?
Guest chapter 19 . 6/14
Well dang. This is an interesting chapter. It's good to be back in the present and right on time for the Mao Arc and more Shirlulu moments. In my opinion, Mao was a bit of wasted potential due to how short his screentime is. It's sadly understandable because of his Geass and him possibly leaking Lelouch's identity and ruining his plans.
This chapter definitely shows one of Shirley's strong points, which is being a strong positive influence to Lelouch (and Suzaku). She was one of the people that shaped Lelouch's perspective on the world during the series as well as being very high on the list of those he cherishes most (likely below Nunnally). A girl who has a reason to be mad, but decides not to be and instead chose to be grateful for her father's survival. And next chapter is going to show Lelouch's protective and emotional sides because the idea of Shirley being in danger puts him in a state of great unrest. Mao is truly a fiend for kidnapping and using to get to Lelouch.
Joseph's brain being restored is shocking, but not unwelcome since it might be considered a miracle. Guess Geass can be good for helping people. And a love triangle for his affections rises as Kallen feels jealously towards Nina. Definitely a triangle I did not see coming(or did I?lol).
Question though, is next chapter going to be the Student Council vs Mao or Lelouch, C.C, and/or Suzaku vs Mao since the council is around Lulu during the call? Sorry for the long review.

Actually, I like the Mao arc. Lemme enlighten you a bit...

Yes, it shows how Geass works and its unfortunate evolution, but it also shows how Mao is a foil to Lelouch. A warning, that Lelouch could end up like him, out of control, which worked somewhat foreshadowed the SAZ Massacre. The Mao arc was also meant to augment the relationship between Lelouch and C.C.; it shows that she was selfish yet merciful for giving Geass to Mao, abandoning him, then killing him later, but also kind for caring for him as she raised him.

Mao and C.C.'s relationship is another foil to C.C. and Lelouch's; whereas Mao's world revolved around her and he wanted her as his mother then lover, Lelouch treated C.C. as an ally first, then sort-of friends. As equals. Which works with the end of the films.

I will admit, the CG world is pretty unkind to Shirley, hence why it feels bad for her to lose her memories then her life. I think that the show leans more on CLuCLu even with the ship teasing, but hey, this is your fanfic so you can change that. :P

Another thing for the Mao arc: it shows us that Lelouch and Suzaku are unstoppable together. It was only stated before, but now that it's shown, it served as a hint/example so that later when Suzaku and Lelouch worked together to take over the world (in particular, disarm the FLEIJA), it wasn't strange since we already saw them working together episodes ago.

Basically the Mao arc is a character arc not just for Shirley, but Lelouch, Suzaku, and C.C. If it wasn't for it, we wouldn't have learned outright that Suzaku killed his dad, which led to Lelouch using that nugget at Kamine Island. C.C. wouldn't have become vulnerable to Lelouch - she was often the one saving him, and she knows everything about him; flipping the roles for a bit deepened their bond, and led to their new contract.

Shirley... I think serves primarily as one of Lelouch's 'good angels', the innocent civilian that smiles and gives him peace in Ashford. Every time she gets in danger, he always loses something. First his relationship when he erased her memories, then her life at R2. His morality also dipped hard, killing everyone at the Geass Order. I think, if she was with Lelouch when he's planning to rule Brittania, Zero Requiem would've gone differently.

Still, I don't ship her with him, but hey, it's your fic. :P

As for the chapter itself, it was funny yet inspiring that Joe's words were what inspired Kallen in here to stay with the rebellion. And was Nunnally mindwalking with Joe? And I'm pretty intrigued how knowing that Suzaku is the White Knight this early is making waves.

Anyway, can't wait for the next chapters! Thanks for writing...

Another good chapter keep up the good work. Also is Joseph going to be paired with anyone?
Levin Menace chapter 18 . 5/13
What a chapter. Fills with highs and lows, laughs and melancholy. While it's interesting to see his past and everything, I'm quite excited to see what's going to happen now once canon is picked right back up. Also, a very cheeky cliff hanger at the end.

Looks like the prevalent theory that Joseph had or has been under a geass of some sort is true, hence why Lelouch's geass doesn't work on him. The question now is, who exactly is it? Or even if the one that geass'd him is even someone relevant. I doubt it would be anyone from the Geass Order, such as V.V or even Rolo considering his status among the royal family and everyone that even knew him, considered him dead or missing for years now. It couldn't be C.C as in the beginning, she was trapped by Clovis so there was no chance for even them meeting until later. The only thing I can think of is Dimensional Supervisor (D.S). She's the only viable character that has access to a geass beside all the known character, and considering the void where Joseph is at, then it would lead to the possibility of him being in C.C world. The question now is why. Why is Joseph of all people? Was it simply a mistake, a coincidence, or does Joseph have a much bigger part to play?

All in all, very interesting. Can't wait for the next chapter!
SomebodyLost chapter 17 . 5/9
That was really fun. I'm liking Rebecca and Joe's road trip. Especially when Jo keeps kicking Suzaku's ass without much effort. Can he do the Spinzaku?

I wish we can see more of their trip! I wonder what Rebecca would think about Marianne and Charles' real plan for the world.

Thanks for writing!
Levin Menace chapter 17 . 5/5
I happened to stumble upon this one day, and on an off chance decided to read this quaint little story. I can say for certain that I didn't regret it. Finished it up in a single night, and came back to it here and there whenever I was feeling bored or wanted a story with a quick laugh.

That's one of the better aspect of the story. Despite it being fairly short for each chapter, it always contained enough and your personal writing style and brand of humor always managed to get a chuckle out of me. It's a nice and niche touch to the usual OC style of stories. Instead of a generic, original character that's inserted into the story that is either some paragon of virtue or self serving individual with the story either coming out in his/her favor all the time or remaining EXACTLY the same as in canon. It's so nice and interesting to read a story with some nuance as I'm legitimately unsure of where the story is going. Sure, some canon event happened, but the slight changes and different outcome that were caused by Joseph are enough to make it interesting. Keep me coming back to read it and excited for the next chapter.

The humor is on point, and it is legible and readable besides being a mess of the English language. Shame that this story isn't as popular, but seeing as its Code Geass and the fandom has dwindle down compared to its highest points its kind of understandable. Still, I do hope that you continue this story for as long as possible. I'm very eager to see what happens next.

Good luck Mr. Author.
