Reviews for Super Mario Sunshine: A Sprite of Light
LiamTheYoshi chapter 55 . 7/30
Now that is a happy ending, though I will miss Aqua and Daisy, they were so much fun to see in this story!

This was a really great story to read, I laughed, I cried, I smiled, and I felt nostalgic throughout. You gave the characters even more emotion, and I really liked the character development you put in Aqua.

You might have actually wrote this story even better than Nintendo (no offense, I think Nintendo's stories and games are amazing)!

I loved this story, and it is sad to see it end, but at least it ended happy and on a high note. I will rate this story a 9.9/10. It was a WAY PAST COOL story! Nice one, and I hope to see more of your amazing stories coming soon, until next time...

STAY FRESH! (Get the reference?)

Now that was a happy happy vacation! No evil Koopas to bother with them now, just peace and fun!

I have never, ever, not even in a sweater, seen Bowser cry before. Wait, maybe I did see him cry in Mario's Time Machine (which is a game we don't talk about) and Super Mario RPG. Though this time, he was actually crying for real. I guess it shows that sometimes, even the cold hearted and the toughest need to let out their emotions and tears.

Yeah Prosecutor, TOTALLY eye sweat...

I did not except E. Gadd to appear, at least he told us how Junior got the paintbrush.

Poor Junior, he just found out that Peach is indeed not his mama. That must hurt real hard, ouch. Bowser definitely has "Kooped" up big time.

What? You thought I saw gonna say the F word?

Well Bowser, are you happy with what you have done? ARE YOU FREAKIN' HAPPY?!

This story was supposed to be written like it was a script for a possible movie, that explains why it was written in a script style.
Well done writer, well done!
Mario and Aqua will meet again one day!

Excellent story!

Since this is the only review I write, it's gonna be a long one.

I gotta say, I like this story a lot. It's very good for a video game adaption! It sticks to original game while having it's own twists and ideas. I'll admit I've never actually played sunshine, but I've seen all the cutscenes and I know how the general plot goes. I feel that you gave things a more realistic spin, such as the trial that got Mario, Luigi, Aqua, and Daisy in jail. Not to mention the whole, 'Bowser Jr. thinks Peach is his mother' was done very nicely! I always wondered why Peach never seemed to try and correct him in the game. I also like the Koopaling's involvement, which also added to the framing of Luigi, Aqua, and Daisy.

But anyway, I'm gonna talk about Aqua next. She's an amazing character, who goes from being a sad and cowardly little girl to determined and happy. Her backstory is really tragic, and it really shows how cruel Bowser can be. She grows so much during the story, and the relationship she forms with Mario is really sweet! The other characters were fantastic as well! They all had their own personalities, and realistic reasonings behind their actions. I liked how Luigi and Daisy were able to relate by being in the shadows, and found a certain... spark, I'll say, in each other. Also, Mario having legitimate fears, although was kinda strange at first (since I always thought of him as the fearless hero), but it also made him seem more human. It's a different spin, but I like it!

This story had all sorts of moments, from serious to relaxed, and from intense fights to emotional confessions. It also threw in some humor along the way, giving me some laughs. I feel that the ending was satisfactory, with Aqua's farewell with Mario, Luigi and Daisy's parting (and promising relationship), and even Bowser's confession to Junior. You wrapped up the story very well, and I'll be looking forward to seeing more awesome work in the future.

This has been one of the best game adaptions I have seen! This story has impressed me just like Super Mario 64 DS: The Power of the Stars. I loved the development of Aqua's character, sometimes it feels like what a Mario movie would've been if Disney or Pixar were making it. Seeing Aqua transform and even battle Bowser Jr. by herself was really epic. I loved the relationship with Mario and Aqua, I also see Mario and Luigi as big brothers to Aqua, I especially loved the relationship of Luigi and Daisy, I don't think I've seen anyone turn this pairing into perfection. Most of the references, like the Madagascar reference in The Secret of Ricco Tower were hilarious and I was able to spot. The ending was really satisfying seeing Bowser and his son getting what they deserve, although I did wish I saw Wendy, Ludwig and Iggy in The Second Trial, not counting the picture of them being caught. It was even touching to see Aqua turn towards a better future, and can enjoy it with her friends and family. Overall, I give this story a 10/10, I'll be looking forward to your adaption of Super Mario Galaxy, which happens to be my favorite 3d Mario as well as my favorite Wii game.

Welp, it's finally over...this really was a good story to read from start to finish. I hope that your next story is great too mariobroultimate! :D
nintendoscript15 chapter 55 . 7/29
That was a touching end right there. I like those moments where a loved one has to go home, but runs back to who he/she said goodbye to at the last second. I knew at some point, Aqua would tell Mario how he is like King George in terms of a father.

Now for my thoughts on the story as a whole. “A Sprite of Light” was no ordinary adaptation of “Super Mario Sunshine”. The original game did have a good story, but there were some plot holes and confusing moments here and there.

But seeing all the loose ends being tied up and making the plot flow perfectly leaves me awestruck. I loved Mario and Aqua’s ever-growing bond as best friends and a father-daughter type relationship. I also liked seeing Luigi and Daisy grow to love each other over time. I knew they were meant for each other just like Mario and Peach.

Also, the backstories placed here and there were another factor to making the plot sound more sensible. And seeing my contributions to the story makes me feel accomplished. It goes to show how creative minds can make something big.

The teamwork displayed with the four heroes working together to get the Shine Sprites was great as well. Even though Mario, Luigi, Daisy, and Aqua didn’t agree on some stuff, it didn’t stop them from clearing their names.

Overall, I’d rate “A Sprite of Light” 9.8 out of 10! What a perfect end to a perfect vacation! It was all worth it to go to a sun-drenched tropical paradise and have a fun time!

Wow. I never knew that Junior never had a mom in the first place. Him being born with magic for generations? That’s something new.

I’m glad he and Bowser are on good terms again.

And thank you so much for the shout-out! To be able to help write out some of the chapters makes me feel proud of myself.
nintendoscript15 chapter 53 . 7/29
I never knew that Professor E. Gadd had a more prominent role in the story. What a surprise to see that. And it looks like Junior has disowned his dad for now.

I knew FLUDD would be fixed up good. Every story has to have a happy ending, you know.
StarlitDuck chapter 55 . 7/29
Aww! That was a very tender moment. All in all, I thought that it was earned because...this was incredible!

I loved every minute of it! The action, the story, the characters...oh man, the characters. You know, a lot of people have problems with OCs because they tend to just be self inserts or Mary Sue's. Aqua? Neither. She is an awesome character. I loved reading her growth and development, her relationship with Mario, her relationship with FLUDD. I loved it all! I really hope that I can represent her well when I write the story with her.

(For those who are unaware, I got permission to write a story using Aqua from mariobroultimate).

Not to mention, the humor was fantastic. I loved how you managed to sneak it in, even during the climax! On top of that, I loved the deviations that you took from the original story. They were very smart and really added to the plot.

This is quite easily a 10 out of 10. I loved every second of it. Can't wait to read the Galaxy story.

Stay safe and stay awesome :)
StarlitDuck chapter 54 . 7/29
That was a much better ending than the Sunshine ending. I like seeing human moments between the Koopas. Also, you are ever most welcome for being able to use the idea. Thank you very much for giving me credit!

One more chapter to go!
StarlitDuck chapter 53 . 7/29
I liked the fourth wall joke. I think that was pretty funny; it kind of reminds me of a fourth wall joke in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Also, wow, Elvin was the conscience. I never would have guessed.

Two more chapters to go!
Guest chapter 52 . 7/28
Well that happened.
Well done Writer.
Only a few chapters left and then this story will be complete.
C.T Genius chapter 52 . 7/21
Nice Finale, although I’m concerned that you might get in trouble for the chat format that you wrote the story in.
