Where you talked about this fic in a thread at WA, I found this intriguing. I can see why you would be proud of it. This is wonderfully written, interesting and very believable. It did seem in character that they would be awkward and feel guilty about it afterwards. I will admit, I was surprised they would still try and get frisky after Ron returned. The use of the Obliviate spell keeps it very true to cannon.

I'm sorry if the ending broke your hearts. It broke mine too. In truth, the idea was respecting the canon books as much as I could, so people would be able to say: "OK, this is what happened at the end, but maybe, just maybe, something else happened in the middle... the kind of thing that would eventually resurface...". Since Rowlings narrates things from Harry's point of view, if his memories were modified, then something like this is plausible.
And of course, maybe I was able to stand it because I could write a second part.
I'm already writing it, though both stories are pretty independent, given the ending of this one.

I agree 100% with .D's review. This was painful to read and I didn't enjoy, I cannot tell which is worse between the original novel and this fanfiction. I'd wonder if people who write these tragedies would like to experience something similar in real life - minus the magic of course.

Well, he betrayed them? There really isn't much else he ever did of relevance. So they give up what they want, to not hurt someone who betrayed them... because of his betrayal.

Yeah, this is tragic. And Horrible, not in how it is written, but in how the story makes me feel. Two people mutilating themselves to give a rat-bastard what he wants, all because he would throw a fit if he didn't get it. Would kill his 'best friend' over it.
Stories like this make Ron look worse than Wormtail in many ways.

Actually, no, they make Ron look outright worse than Wormtail, he at least had the gall to outright betray his friends to death, rather than undermine and kill their souls.
