| Amy chapter 1 . 2/3/2019 I figured it was a red herring, that Jack was the one who should be having this talk but wasn’t there, and Sharon was alive in this story, but it would have worked well either way. Sarah sounds great, and I’m glad goofball Ricky grew up enough to date - and relocate for - someone like her. And I like that the proposal wasn’t some elaborate thing. This feels like a natural talk between Andy and Ricky, and a natural dymanic between the siblings – you did a nice job taking what we saw on the show and adding quite a few years. And Sharon and Andy were sweet but not saccharine. I enjoyed all the relationships. My cousin had to do all sorts of shit to “convert” before he could marry his Catholic wife in her church, but that was a long time ago and I make it a point to know as little about religion as possible, so maybe Sarah being another branch of Christianity is enough now? No matter; the wedding is just the backdrop for the character exploration, and this was a nice little family moment. I like Andy getting a little choked up at Ricky's words, even though Ricky has always liked him. |
