I think your story might be a little too close to canon in terms of transpired events. Don’t be afraid to break from it and do your own thing.

To be honest, your story sounds better than the series itself. I really lost interest in RWBY. The first three volumes were better, but the other four were not the best, and i really lost interest in the series. I hope you do your best. Keep up the good work.

Yuck. Awful dialogue executing some of the worst info dumps I've seen yet, not to mention sounding forced (yet alike). Not to mention the predictably bad OCs this fandumb is known for and the woefully stale/shameless insertion of them into canon characters history/family/romance. If this is improvement*, I could only imagine how much more cancerous the original was.
