What a delightfully lengthy and fantastic one-shot showcasing NaruSasu from Naruto’s POV! I personally thought that your fic seemed almost canonical just in terms of the scenes you chose to depict and how naturally the NaruSasu bond could’ve shifted from friendship to something more. I especially enjoyed reading about Naruto’s inner thoughts plus how he decided to act based on them. Your version of Sasuke was also very likable. I wish you had written more stories for this particular pairing but I’ll take what I can get. Keep up the GREAT work! :-)

It's stories like these that make me melt from the inside and make me wish that the page never end, that it should keep in going. I scrolled through it really slowly and still it ended!

It's worth scourging for hours through so much of muck people call fan fiction today to come across stories like this once in a while.

This was super cute! I used to be into Naruto a decade ago (God does time fly) when I was 12 or so and this was the first pairing I liked. It's been probably eight years since I've read a narusasu fic and I am so glad it was this one. Even years later, not knowing anything past the beginning of Shippuden, I feel like this story just *got* the characters down so well.

The one paragraph where you describe their relationship early on, it's just so on point. I actually switched from my phone to my computer to leave this comment because of this one part.

“But out of the four of them, it was Naruto and Sasuke’s issues that caused the biggest rift; Naruto, too eager to prove himself to ask for Sasuke’s help, and Sasuke, too arrogant and set in his ways to admit he needed Naruto’s. To Naruto, Sasuke had been a goal to surpass on his way to Hokage, and to Sasuke, Naruto had been an obstacle in the way of his revenge. Neither of them understood the other, because neither of them bothered to try. By the time Naruto recognized the depths of his teammate’s pain, Sasuke had already drowned in it.”

This was my favorite section of the story. It's so beautifully written and so, so accurate. From what I remember from the show, Naruto wasn't very reflective early on, and it makes you wonder how his and Sasuke's paths could have unfolded had the two of them been less inner-focused. I really like that despite that, you wrote a realistic way they could manage to get together even with their history looming over them.

This review is getting waaaay longer than I planned haha but wow I really loved it 3. The only downside is now I feel like any other story I find after this isn't going to even come close. With that being the case, I'll definitely come back and reread this. (:

I loved it! I've seen the filler episode and when they kissed for a second time I was really starting to think it would go somewhere, but nooo. There should have been a third kiss in the final fight because it felt like them. Anyway, I enjoyed the convo with Sakura, it felt very accurate. When she admitted her feelings for the third time after the war I was like, "What? How?! He barely showed you an ounce of attention." Team 7 as a whole is dysfunctional as hell, but at least Sasuke acknowledges the reciprocation of feelings/friendship with Naruto and talk(fight) about it in that stupid "manly" way that boys feel the need to do. I never understood Sakura though, especially after she saw what he did to Karin.

I love it... You NAILED everyone's character and it was so adorable too...
