I think the ending was the right one.
Both feeling guilty about things that couldn’t be helped and in the end they’ll both be able to resume their lives as normal.

I think it's a good ending! As Virgil says, they lived to fly another day and that's all that matters!

This is so great, I was on the edge of my seat through, like all the chapters. But their brothers have found them now so at least they won't die in an icy hole and that's always good. I just hope that John'll be okay, cant wait for the next chapter.

Well the situation certainly isn’t getting any better.
Both of them with life endangering injuries and now Virgil guilt ridden that he’s worsened John’s condition.
This is really tense..love it.
