OMGS the end! Wow! So true that in this moment he is there with her and she is both letting and inviting him BECAUSE they both believe she's about to die anyway so frak everything else!

Loved how you described Bill realizing in the beginning that pain could move through walls and bulkheads (such a nice and profound touch adding bulkheads). Also that he would only wear the pins to honor her memory-this man truly carries the weight of himself and the world on his shoulders. Sigh.

Also loved the "I'm fine" exchange when she says that to him and he eventually replies "I'm not" but adds teasingly that she left him hanging on the phone. This was the perfect exchange for them and tie in to their signature phone calls, and you wrote it so well with her appreciating the levity too. Even though there was so much more to his answer than that; they knew it, and so did I as a Reader.

Oooohhh! This was sooo beautiful! I wish, the show had continued with the scene you wrote. I wonder what would have happened later than when Bill realises that Laura will be cured. I am sure they would have got together much earlier ... Maybe you want to continue? I would love to read your version of the story.

That was perfect and completely lived up to my expectations. I absolutely loved that it started with a phone call and then progressed from there. I really appreciated Bill’s thoughts at the beginning because it was very true to his character. And I loved that she kissed him in the end. There were so many absolutely beautiful moments.
