One of the problems with most stories written in first person narrative is the fact the POV isn't the canon character, but the writer instead. The writer needs to keep the way the character speaks in tact for not just the dialogue, but the actual prose for the fic. Thus if the writer struggles with dialogue, then they're going to struggle with first person POV. In part dialogue comes down to knowing the character, and how they think and act.

In this particular fic, I just don't get Naruto. Add to the fact the POV doesn't feel like Naruto's, it also feels like the slash pairing has been turned into a het pairing as I read the story. The best way to put it is, if I want a het pairing I'll go read het, and I expect slash not to fall into stereotypes of having one character masculine, and the other feminine in personality, unless the characters are already this way in canon.

Yes, I know the stories old, but I'm reading through old stories at this point, and giving truthful reviews as I read. Critique left on an older story doesn't reflect what the writer can do now.
