Reviews for Forbidden Arcana: The Jester
Fullmetal11791 chapter 19 . 5/14
...i tried to give it one more chapter just in case, you know, i vastly misunderstood something. One more chance for an otherwise fun and interesting idea.

And then this: Akira dies, suddenly isnt dead.

Grace - "Oh shit hes alive oh shit oh shit, babe what is going on i need to see you NOW"
Akira - "Oh? Is this a fight? Are we fighting?"

Grace - "are you fucking serious i thought you were dead, i NEED an explanation"
Akira - "What's wrong, you sound terrible?"

Grace - Understandably loses her mind.
Akira - "hey It's a long story, but yea my bad. But we also shouldnt meet up, nows not a good time. But, you know, its for *your* protection."

What am i reading? Are you even the same author from the first sixteen chapters?

Guess i didnt misunderstand anything. Guess you just decided that empathy and common sense and character development could all just jump off a cliff or something.

Oh well. The main story was good. Had some nice tense moments and some good development. Made the possible relationship between the two decently realistic. The fluff chapters were cute and fun.

These last two should have been taken out back and put out of their misery before they ever saw the light of day.

Ehh... what?

I know you're trying to stir up some drama, but there is literally no way Akira doesn't tell Grace about this plan before enacting it.

He *knows* she is a former special forces opperative with real world experience on how to properly execute difficult plans. Who better to discuss logistics on something this complicated? And even if he doesn't talk about it often, he *knows* that she's aware that he's in the Phantom Thieves. They've literally discussed it, multiple times. He also *just* made her a promise that he would come to her for help for any difficult plans he would be involved in like two chapters ago. That they would be in this together.

In what world does he not tell her this is going down? Akira's smart, he *knew* this would be all over the news. That was the entire point. So he has to explain the metaverse? So what. Is she suddenly untrustworthy? It's better that someone he loves has to experience multiple types of heartbreak?

And whats the end game here? Is he no longer interested in seeing her? Because if he *is*, he'd have to tell her he's alive at some point, and explain the situation. There's literally no point in hiding it unless he's trying to ghost her in the cruelest way possible.

This honestly feels like a huge slap in the face; it destroys all the character development between the two so far. It's also completely unbelievable that Akira would not tell his most important confidant that his death would be broadcast all over the news. So much for "rank 10" bonds lol.

Very fun and cute story up to this point... but honestly, what a train wreck of a chapter.

Idk as amusing as it is to keep his friends in the dark about his girlfriend, Akira's been through a hell of a lot with them. I cant imagine they'd be anything but supportive. Sure they'd get some shit for the age gap, but best friends give each other shit for stuff all the time. Plus, she's aware he's a phantom thief, and the Rainbow organization seems to be fully aware of the members anyway.

Seems like it would be a hell of a lot less stressful to just tell em.
Fullmetal11791 chapter 16 . 5/14
Mm, why would Akira introduce her to his parents? Why would he want anything to do with them at this point? They threw him, a fucking minor, out of their house. They believed some random politician over their son. They allowed their embarrassment over having a "delinquent" to surpase the love they should have as parents. Good riddance to them.

I dont know anything about rainbow six siege, but i thought this looked interesting and I'm glad i started it. Aside from some weird grammar issues, it's been great so far.

Quick question though. Akira, if he's even completed the first stolen heart (and i assume he has because of how Makoto has discovered him), couldn't Akira just have bought a ticket to a major city in South Korea to use whatever rendition of Mementos that existed there? Just stay for a night or two? Surely a SK major general would be known in a major SK city.

This chapter just reminded my why I absolutely loathed Justine and caroline. A shame we couldn't destroy them in the game but oh well.

For the story it is good the writing is great, the characters are also great and I think you managed to grace quite her sharp intelligence and desire to prove herself over and again from which her main character conflict stems.

really great looking forward to read it all.
FRANZAKERS chapter 20 . 11/17/2019
Dokkaebi is one of my favorite R6 operators and this has just become one of my favorite fanfiction. The way you built the story around a Confidant Link format was amazing. The little glimpses to Dokkie’s world was amazing too, in that teasing way.
That being said, while no reader would dare think the lady is a damsel in distress, I sure do hope that you’ll make full use of Dokkie’s military skills as support to Joker and the rest. Really wanna see that.
I also wanna see the reaction of the Phantom Thieves (especially Futaba) to his ex-military hacker girlfriend!

Keep up the good work, man!

Strange ship but this is so well done, that it doesn't even matter. Can't wait for the next chapter, mate.
7thManiac chapter 20 . 10/1/2019
Aw that was sweet. Glad to see an update. And yeah, I agree with Akira. The traitor is pretty obvious. I didn't even catch the pancake thing honestly, not until much later. The game kinda makes it obvious, and with the way some of the interactions between him and the player go I got the vibe that it wasn't necessarily meant to be a secret. I got some "hey, I know that you know that I know" vibes sometimes.

I do wonder how far shell get to know the Thieves, assuming that Akira does accept her offer of support later on. I mean, I'm sure Futaba will love the additional tech support, but I don't think direct combat in the fashion of R6's gameplay will be useful to the PT.

Thank you.
DoctorHayden chapter 19 . 7/20/2019
You know, it'd be interesting if/when she actually meets the rest of the Thieves without the ridiculous charade Futaba was subjected to.
Guest chapter 18 . 3/30/2019
...well, fuck. He may have been trying to protect her by not informing her of his position, and he hadn't informed his teammates about her, so it's not like he could have asked them to handle his phone, but he still could have asked one of his other social links, gods, will she even be in the right mind to notice when they reveal everything?
