This is amazing! I love the idea of Zuko as the secret Avatar!

This was slightly annoying to read, I'll admit, due to the lack of space between paragraphs. But the fact that I read it proves how good of a story it really was. I agree with you, this would make a BEAUTIFUL multi-chapter fic, but even as a one shot it was awesome. I enjoyed reading this VERY much.

Maybe Zuko /is/ the Avatar!
I guessed that before "everything changed when she met the Avatar" (because why else would Zuko be intensively collecting information on other benders /and/ refusing to bend? And it totally explains how and /why/ he killed 64 people. Waking up must have been horrible.). And yayyy I was right! (But now I'm wondering if I should have guessed that earlier.)

This was a very cool idea! You're right, I've never seen an Avatar Zuko story where he renounces the Avatar title and keeps his crown. You're also right that he could do so, so much more from that position. Holy crap, the accidental Avatar state at his Agni Kai that killed his family... can't even imagine how he felt after that. Also like that even after death he (rightfully) tells the next Avatar that there was no Avatar in his time. He was so much more...
