I must admit, I am not too fond of the whole "Xander having been captured by Shinra" deal that has gone on; especially as the idea of Shinra having more super soldiers means that they would be practically unstoppable (All they would really need is an Iceman or an Emma Frost at a minimum to make things exceedingly more difficult for everyone else) unless the Anti-Shinra side of things got a similar deal which I highly doubt. Plus, if it was so easy for a scientist of some level of genius to find ways to try and give the X-gene (Or just Logan's healing factor) to those without it then people like Doctor Doom would have been doing it for a long time now. I, personally, feel like this just fucks with things a little too much in ways that might not be controllable in the far off future of this story. Just makes me have some concerns about the sustainability of the... power-scaling? of the opponents Xander and Co. would be facing in comparison to what they would be able to have available to themselves (Like a mouse trying to lift a whale; probably not going to happen without some serious levels of bullshit involved). I will see how this story goes before seeing if my concerns were well founded or not though.

Now to see if Xander can stop her from being taken by Shinra.

Amateur is right. My respect for Xander had been incredibly low most of the story. He gets thrust into another world and great, he opened and runs a bar. I like the character being entrepreneurial, but he hasn't really tried to hone his inherited skills or acquire new ones. Picking up and learning how to use these gun blades would have been a great start. Wolverine might have been able to pull off this ultra close range combat all the time, but Xander lacks the skill and experience to make that work for him. A gun/rifle has a lot more range and speed than even he does.

I think he deserved to be taken. Such a complete lack of ambition or awareness of his weaknesses with no seeming desire to remove them needs to he punished severely.

The sad part of Gast's argument is that having the whole picture means knowing about the stuff that had been sealed away for the good of everyone. Unfortunately, the only way to truly "know" such things would be to unseal it and that could easily create a calamity before they can restore containment. Though that's assuming they even survive long enough to pull it off.

Shinra’s kidnapping Xander and the possibility of mutant Soldiers with wolverines abilities still in the works is where I kinda gave up on this.

On the other hands... what happened to the other changed Sunnydalians? Are they there with Xander in FFIV's verse? I couldn't see Willow Stark being that Low Key... though I wonder if she managed to hide from Shinra at all... unless she immediately recognized her surroundings and work to attach herself under Reeve Tuesti...and thus more easily 'hide' from Shinra, if not hide from Reeve himself.

And then there's Cordelia and Harmony...

Not to mention Hojo's plan to create some Mutants. As if Sephiroth is not bad enough...

Evil, evil Shinra. But my real concern is, he was inserted so early in the timeline, how's he gonna get with any FF girls? And will there be cactuars?

While I like the story, it would have made more sense if Hojo used Lucretia and Xander to give birth to 'Project S' in an attempt to provide that project with the 'X-gene' not this weird 'oh I've got gallons of blood and the means to make more, obviously i can recreate this x-gene however i'd like.' Much less devise events In such a way that it could theoretically not damage the coming major canon events at all.

If they had a problem with Godo's old man and his politics, than it would've been wiser to see if father and son share in their political views.

Why assassinate someone who shares your beliefs, when you could put them on the throne and remove the road block to modernization?

Oh sure, Godo would be upset and want retribution for the death of his father, but that's why you'd set up a rival with questionable morals*, to strike down two birds with one stone. (Too sneaky? Mweh. If you're willing to use assassins to get your way, than you're in no position to complain about that, as that's not exactly honourable either.)

Only reasonable answer is that the politics is just a smoke screen and that it's simply a power grab.

*: Liking them rather young, if you catch my drift. Involved with slavery or the drug trade etc. You get the idea. There's always some muckity muck around pulling crud like that. May as well have them be useful as a scapegoat.

Or in short, similar to what Shinra would pull, just without the social engineering.

Sounds like Chi-Ryu is on the take or his ego is big enough that he'd remove a potential protector for the Prince to salvage his hurt "feelings".

Note, "potential" protector.
While we know that Xander has no interest in such a job, the Wutai brass do not know this or at least aren't 100 percent certain of it.

As such this is throwing away a possible asset to satisfy someone's unwarranted ego.
