this is so sad but so good. Qui-Gon has always been a role model and his relationship with Xanatos was truly heartbreaking. I remember reading the books when I was younger and just feeling so lost that something like that could happen to two people so connected. now that I'm older and have experienced it myself, I understand and it hurts more. I understand how Qui-Gon felt, the pain, the betrayal. they say fiction is more true than reality, and I think that Qui-Gon's and Xanatos's father/son-like relationship is so clear and bitter. you captured Qui-Gon's character and essence so well, his emotions and his thoughts, as well as Yoda's undying patience and understanding. your writing style is beautiful. thank you for sharing this with us!

That phrase was basis enough for Master Yoda to recommend his suspension from the Order. He should have been worried, or at the very least angry with himself for so exposing his weakness. But a leaden weight had sunk into his chest, crushing worry and anger and leaving him empty of all but a heavy despair.
