While that may be so, Nami has the power of weather by her side. She also could have zapped them unconscious as mean as that sounds. Or even yet, used the heat from electricity to melt the candies. She also could have just pushed the children away with her wind. But no, she stood there, stared, and practically did nothing really. Points for trying to save the kids but failed spectacularly.
I know that it's just the way Oda drew/wrote but seriously, for as smart as Nami is, everytime there's danger, it's like she forgot how to use her brain half the time.
Also, it might sound like I'm bashing on Nami, I do like her. If there's any character I feel like bashing on is the Celestial Dragons, Apis and Erik. The latter two was unneeded filler.
