Reviews for Strange Attractors
Miira2001 chapter 67 . 2h
Hi,
I really love your story so far! Your style of writing is really good and I like the way you depict Tom Riddle, as well as the Wizarding world of the 1940s in General. I’m truly looking forward to the next updates and am in the edge of my seat to find out how the story continues.

There’s only one thing I don’t really understand, regarding chapters 66 and 67. So Hermione is battling her friends and stuff, okay, got it. But what I don’t really get is how this doesn’t trigger the „combat mode“ thingy you described in an earlier chapter? It did stop her from participating in the duels in ADADA after all. Isn’t the chance of stray curses etc a lot higher in these two chapters though? I’m a bit confused

(I hope you understand what I mean. I apologise for any mistakes and the amount of nonsense I just put down. English isn’t my first language)

First off- I love how you described lysandra at the end. Shes my new favorite person.

Secondly - that ending to their battle was completely satisfying.
The "sonnet" from Paul was hilarious. I hope he says it outloud near Tom.

How you could be unsatisfied with this chapter is mind-boggling. Its getting more interesting as things are happening in the background.

Will there be more moody? I would love to see a jealous Tom. She does owe him for making her a puppet in his last plan with Jemima.

When will grindelwald return?
Albus?
Her past/future?

I'm sorry to hear you are continuing to feel less than inspired. Depression sucks. I find that I am in a somewhat similar boat myself right now, so with that thought in mind I really just want to say thanks for every word in every chapter! We, I, appreciate it, and how much effort it must take to be writing right now! I hope you're able to find your passion again, and even though you feel less than steller about your newest chapter I found it fun.

I love the action bits! Hermiones creativity and intelligence really shows through in this chapter yet again. (In a tasteful, fun, non Mary-Sue type of way.) So many writers get their action bits so wrong, but I find myself anticipating the next bit of action for this story every time. I don't know how to describe that "heck yeah" feeling, so I'll admit to you that I was probably making goofy excited faces at my phone as I read. So is the next chapter going to be the next round, or a time jump back to the present? Thank you for the update and hope you feel better!

Just watched part of an episode of Mindhunters where they explain psychopaths and I was like “oh my god it’s Tom.” Loved the new chapter!

Why do I get the feeling this is not the last we'll be hearing of Tasgall Travers?
It was nice to see what good friends Peter and Paul can be giving up the coveted leadership roles to help Ceres and Pip deal with their grief and anger.
I smirked a bit that Julia has apparently shown the Hermione/Tom fight pensieve memories to just about everyone - the magical equivalent of You Tube perhaps..
After hearing about Hermione's conversation with Mordred about his mother I wonder if Tom will surmise that her parents were Unspeakables and that is why Kopervik was targeted. (Julia/Mordred - I think someone has a crush!)
I enjoyed Hermione decidedly NOT impressed with Casimir's self-sacrifice play - Tony Stark would approve!
Looking forward to reading Ceres' teams obstacle run - hopefully Hermione will be able to pull something out of her bag of tricks to let them win.
Thanks for the hard slog - it was definitely NOT crappy and is appreciated. Stay safe and well.

Hi! I recently started reading your story. In answer to your author's note in chapter 10: I'm from Austria, I'm fluent in English, enjoyed reading the Harry Potter books, have been reading HP fanfics since before book 5 came out, and these days I have my filter set to long fics that have been recently updated, so when you last updated this story, it caught my attention. I'm enjoying it thus far. ;)

How could this be boring. Its like reading an adventure book. I want the rest of this experience. I want the new tactic.
Honestly I was sucked into the action.
This was great.

Loved it, thanks for the update!

YES IM TAKING YOUR BEST EFFORT OVER NO UPDATES ANY DAY thank you so much for the update! such a cute character development on hermione's part with the compliment thing, and oof i wish people in real life would know that an apology or an honest confession of speechlessness is all a friend could really offer at times, people place too much expectations on friendships, expecting your friend to know and be right on everything about you ,,
idk that scene with hermione and ceres triggered me thanks again!
kaira-hime chapter 65 . 7/8
please update soon! I miss this fic so much
CathyM4 chapter 65 . 6/20
A chapter full of ghosts; Orpheus, Galatea and Silvanus are certainly haunted by their shared experiences and horrified by the possibility of history repeating itself.
Pleased to see the Ministry is an equal opportunity arse, spurning both the young for their lack of proper breeding and the older for disregarding Ministry directives 20 years earlier.
I laughed when Daedalus had to point out to Hermione that Abraxas was transforming the Society room into Slytherin Common Room Mk2 piece by piece without her noticing (I bet Tom did!).
Poor Deadalus - his good nature proves his undoing, once Tom hears he will have far less free time for dates or napping!
Merrythought's family motto is somewhat ironic considering her conversation with Hermione. Perhaps it should have been amended to 'In our youth we laugh in the face of death, then we grow up and weep'.
Great invocation of the impact of the world wars on magical Britain, Hermione (in an earlier chapter) notes how many more students attend Hogwarts in the 40s than the 90s and attributes it to the impact of dark lords (Grindelwald/Voldemort) but with Merrythought making the same observation from her student days it is clear that the World wars had a greater impact on the much smaller magical population. As with all such conflicts it is often the brightest and best who are lost.
Great thought provoking chapter, keep well, looking forward to the next.
