Why is this story marked complete when it's not?

Nice concept but this was way too short!
This could have been elaborated more and the story quite frankly reminds me a little bit of Roald Dahl's "Matilda".
It would have been nice if your covered all years and gave more details as to how the relationship between Severus and Harry develops. How is his relationship with his head of house and classmates? What about Sirius and Remus? At least Remus should be prudent enough to point howbtobJames how wrong his treatment of Harry is. How do Harry and Snape deal with Voldemort's return? In your fic the philosopher's stone was stolen, which means Voldemort successfully obtained it but then you don't mention anything of his return.
Your idea had the potential to be a quite long story, too bad you only kept it as a one-shot. I really enjoyed it though.

It would be cool to see Lily's reaction to how James treated their son and how Severus took over guardianship.

This is absolutely adorable. I am mildly concerned about later years, but I don’t really want to think about it. I’ve read enough fics along this vein that I can speculate how to make things end nicely. They will end nicely, in my mind. It is possible, and I do not wish to think much on the alternative.

It's great one-shots like these I see potentially becoming multi-chapter fics. You gave enough details that make it a wonderful one-shot but if there ever is a time you would like to expand this fic into a longer more in-depth version, I'll be there to read it!
