Reviews for Burning Sky
moderatekay chapter 1 . 8/4/2019
My gosh. This was terrifying, sad, and beautiful. The way that you thread events in the past and the present together with key images is absolutely admirable. I love how there's this feeling of pain, danger and the sense that you must overcome it all throughout this story; especially the training scene with Lightning and Doc, aAHGHG hg it's such a scary scene to imagine but just like Doc predicted, it actually served Lightning so well in his later races and yet he was in pain and was coughing the whole night and GUH.

I've likely mentioned this before, but I seriously love these stories where characters are thrust into extreme situations with the promise that there is indeed someone that will endure it all with them. Lightning watches not only the news stories about his crash but also the stories of cars that lost their homes and lives to the wildfires; and at the end of the story, someone that's recently rebuilt their home looks out if Lightning's managed to come back on track as well. It's painful but also hopeful and it's so great.

I love it! It's so descriptive, i don't know if you're comparing McQueen's self pity or pressure, but i LOVE it!

This was a very interesting story between Doc and Lightning, and races and wildfires. I never thought that racing could be connected to wildfires in someway. I like your thinking! :D

I love reading your stories because they're always so different than anything on this site for Cars. I don't always know what to think of them, but they make me think and I like that.
