Reviews for Voices From The Past
XenoLucifer chapter 20 . 9/25/2019
"If you do this you'll lose your presence forever" bro are you stupid? your 'presence' is how noticable you are, the more you show off and dominate the field the stronger your presence is, you don't just lose it and Kuroko himself was gaining presence by scoring points. This is just as stupid as "losing the zone".
DarkElements10 chapter 25 . 9/6/2019
This, I think, was the perfect ending to the story. Felt just like how an anime would actually end and the fact you managed to work it into a live-action show I think worked pretty well. Barry certainly would try to have it that he could do the one-on-one game against Ryuto. And it was good to see that he would keep his promise to go back and visit them when he had the chance. I'm a little curious as to having Caitlin and Ryuto as a possible match when there wasn't really any pay-off with them one way or another. If it were a bigger part of the story, say if she'd gone to Japan with them, I think it would've made a bigger impact. As it is, a reunion with all of them is always a very heartfelt way to end a story and I'm glad it worked so well here. I hope you continue on with this universe as it's something I'll continue to enjoy reading.
Riley chapter 24 . 7/20/2019
Sorry, not logged in.

Clark is Clark, man. No one can beat him. Bruce (who I did notice in the last chapter) might be able to. That would've been great to see as well! A game between Clark and Bruce! Anyway, it was great to see that game play out and then Barry's and Ryuto'a final words with each other before they jet set back to Central City.

A game with Clark and Barry would be great, too. Wishful thinking, but fun. Can't believe the next chapter is the last. I loved reading this.
DarkElements10 chapter 23 . 7/7/2019
Okay, I was going to review this two days ago and then Spider-Man: Far From Home happened and I was distracted by that. But you know what I really liked? And I feel like them minority in feeling this, but I really like the fact that you didn't actually show us how they won. Love it. Freaking love it. It's more of a concrete feeling, to me, than seeing the victory or the loss. Going straight to the aftermath was something that I think is a good writing tactic in having the response to the win or loss being as heartfelt as if we saw it all.

And I love the fact that CCHS lost. That might've been what I mentioned (or guessed) but I do like it. I'm always someone who wants to be surprised with what and ending and I think that there was something that, while it could've gone either way, made more sense in CCHS losing. I was more surprised that you went that route rather than it being something I prefer to see. Lol.

And, of course, I'm all for more with Clark. Love them.
DarkElements10 chapter 21 . 5/22/2019
Ah, some points from the characters back in Central City! That was a good shot to see how everyone's feeling about the team getting so far, and the point of the time change was good as well. I loved Iris in this chapter, she certainly does have the energy for someone who doesn't particularly see much into basketball beforehand, but you've got to sheer on your friends. And Caitlin as well, her calmer reaction to things (albeit a bit nervous) compared to Cadence's was great, as well as her nerves in play of who she should be rooting for, I'm sure that' not easy for her.

Great chapter!

Sorry, again, not signed in. There's so much at stake for this game nd the fact tht the satkes have already been raised for the first half means the second half has to be amazing. Snart's obsession explanation ws definitely spot on for his character. And, by this point, I'm surprised that people from the US (Iris, Joe, etc.) hvaen't flowing out to watch them play any of the games.
Riley chapter 19 . 3/22/2019
Sorry, not signed in. But anything that has to do with Clark is fine by me. Though it'd be great if Bruce made an appearance as well. Maybe just on a random vacation to Japan and they run into each other? Or else he played bball, too. I think the idea of splitting things into quarters will make for a real interesting read. There's so much that can be done in terms of pacing, action, and character development. Great job!
DarkElements10 chapter 18 . 2/11/2019
You certainly do keep Barry very in character with his not being able to understand why things won't be the same with him and Ryuto/the friends they have when they face each other. It's a really hard thing to come up against; you want to win, but you want your friends to win as well, and how hard is it to face someone and not go all out? Much like how Barry struggled in facing off against Killer Frost/Caitlin within the show.

But it was also offset really well with showing how Ryuto really isn't the same person they once knew. It greatly shows how people change and how it's almost a NEED that people have to change. If things stayed the same, there'd be no growth and how'd that effect the game then? There's a lot of unpack with this and the addition of Clark at the end was something I didn't expect and I'm very excited to see how he affects the story as it comes to an end.

Great job with this one!
DarkElements10 chapter 16 . 1/13/2019
Haha, the interactions with Snart and Mick are as great as usual. Even as young-ish teens they've still got that perfect dynamic going that is always a treat to read. Barry's blind optimism about everything as spot on here, though it also helps that you turn him around to the reality that he really is going to face his friend. He's the kind of guy that would enjoy the competition about something like that but would prefer a tie or a really good win and that shows well here.

I can't wait for what's next.
DarkElements10 chapter 15 . 10/28/2018
Oooh, reappearance from Cade. Too bad things didn't work out with her and Barry, though I wonder what Barry has to say about it, lol. And Tess! I really didn't expect that! But what I really did like was being able to see Caitlin here as well. Though I'm not quite sure she'd coordinated enough to even dribble a ball considering she failed PE, lol.

Great job with this chapter. A good slowed down one to balance from all the action.
DarkElements10 chapter 14 . 10/4/2018
I really hope with this new Oliver that we get the chance to see the bromance he has with Barry on the show despite the fact that Oliver is the de facto leader of Team Flarrow and here Barry is the team captain.
DarkElements10 chapter 13 . 10/4/2018
Oh Oliver, you've really got to learn that you can't do everything yourself. Then again, with the most recent season, that's well in keeping in line with his personality and the way he reacts to things. Though it certainly read better here than it did within the show. Off to the next part.
Guest chapter 14 . 9/30/2018
Are Caitlin Iris and the othera going to show up again soon?
DarkElements10 chapter 12 . 7/11/2018
As I said before, I'm always here for more stuff about Ronnie (to the point that I need to write more about him myself, lol). Yyou did a great job with his emotional development with everything through the chapter. And, of course, it's always fun to see Harrison having to deal with others that may have been his colleagues of those he was aware of. There's so much that can be done with people of Harrison's part, which, honestly, I wish the show would go into more. How Harrison's name had been besmirched so much, but it's probably too late for that.

Ccan't wait for more of the game chapters.

Just a tip to be careful, however. Generally, if a canon character deems an OC as 'perfect' in any way with no means to back it up/just for a plot point, they can easily be labeled a Mary-Sue, or in the case of guy OCs, a Gary-Stu.
DarkElements10 chapter 10 . 5/15/2018
Like I said, I like the fact that they lost. Honestly, I don't see how it'd be a hard decision, they'd need to lose at some point to amp up the tension of their ultimately facing Ryuto and the others at some point. Now, I'm not saying they'll face each other at the end, but that it'd make the most sense drama wise. It's seen they care greatly about watching each other when they play and it gives them an idea of what they can do when they eventually come to face each other once more. So, that'd be greatly interesting to see how it all comes about.

I liked the focus on Ronnie. He's always been one of my favorite characters on the show and I'm so annoyed the show didn't give him more to do than die over and over. Getting more into his head here was great and I feel worked very well in character with him. Ronnie really wanted nothing more than to have the choice to push his body to the breaking point, just as he did as Firestorm.

And it's not really that his powers are that he sets himself on fire. His powers are of nuclear energy, matter transmutation, and nuclear absorption. So he could, for example, turn the ball, or even the court, into something else if he wanted to. Like, say, the size of a golf ball, making it easier to get a basket.

Great job. I loved it.
