Awwww... *wipes eyes* Beautiful! I really love these Lance family fics, although I'd also like to see some love given to the other's families. What about Hunk's? What about Pidge's mother? We know Keith doesn't really have anyone to go back to, but presumably SHIRO does. He's been gone the longest, and suffered the worst... Then again, I'm not entirely sure what would happen if he rocked up at the house one day, metal armed, scarred and with a white-hair-floof and a giant black robotic cat. Regardless- thank you for the story! I don't know how else to say it. :P

Sweetness! I heard about the meteor shower ahead of time but forgot to look for it. I didn't realize it coincided with Lance's birthday!

I love that you had Lance show the Blue Lion to his mom alone. She is such a big part of his life that it makes sense for him to want to share that part, but if he showed her to everyone, she'd be overrun with people trying to examine or play on her.

A couple grammar notes:
~ "outside the solar system they were in" doesn't really make sense
~ either "there was no trace of the Blue Lion" or "there was no evidence that the Blue Lion had been there"
~ I think a name or subject is missing from "They stayed there for long enough to come"

I'm not sure about the "so yes", because the points being made don't quite seem connected.
