Ah, the aftermath of the accident. Of course he'd go with her in the ambulance! What really strikes me is how much they need the other when they're at their lowest ebb. And I love the description of Gene being the kinetic force of the world and being Alex's point of healing. My absolute favourite thing is Gene opening up to Alex, though. He's a man of few words when it comes to being emotional but those words really do pack a punch. I did wonder why the hell he mentioned Sam, but oh my, that was incredible. I might have become a pile of mush. The detail of their sexual reconnection and exploration was very hot. They are definitely at their best together!
