I'm blown away by how much you were able to fit into this! You can write so much perfect characterization and history for this family in a blink of a paragraph. It's stories like this that made me fall in love with the Richardses 20 years later.

I like how the kids are sort of in the periphery of this story, and you have to wonder what kind of summer they truly had. Surely, there was peace, but that feeling of turmoil and uncertainty is still there.

So awesome to have the 5-week confrontation at the pub where Gregory asked Thomas for Olivia's hand. I really felt his betrayal and the pain in their marital farce. I even love the name of the place: "The Greyhound." Gentle but predatory, like Greggie.

And that end scene: of course they did. In the bedroom, it all melts away. He had to reclaim her after finding out who the guy was. :)

Pour une fois, qu'Olivia arrive à le surprendre et qu'il ne puisse pas se sortir de cette impasse s'est bien joué :) . Par contre, je ne comprends pas elle était pourtant furieuse contre lui par rapport à sa deuxièmes tromperies pourquoi l'accueil t'elle comme ça ? Ok, ils font semblant devant tout le monde. Mais est ce que le faite d'avoir passé 5 semaines sans Grégory la fait réfléchir sur ces sentiments envers lui? En tout cas tu ma bien eu , je n'avais pas fait attention après du changement de lieu quand ils étaient ensemble. la description de Frankie ressemble beaucoup à gregory je trouve :)

I love reading about G&O and the early days of their marriage. This latest story certainly didn't disappoint. Absolutely loved it.

OMG Gregory and Vanessa, now that was a surprise pairing! Love the Stardust series so I enjoyed reading this contribution to the story.

I have to go back and enjoy all of these, but I remember you mentioning that you were working on an Olivia & opera emotion-fest, so I had to read this most recent one first.

Of course, I had to put on Renée Fleming as I read, and it's amazing how well it fits the broken phase of their marriage. Tortured Olivia is my favorite, and the emotion, the melodrama, and the quiet, bursting resignation was so heavy in such a short story.
