What if you make up a fake story about how the empire was made like you can say that humanity was created from apes by a long line of another species the served your god to make the perfect followers that can build the perfect empire and only the most ambitious, ruthless, smart/clever, and powerful could rise to the stars and you can reference Atlantis Or Gilgamesh(who might have been trying to prove himself when he found out about what was going on) and those that didn’t where left behind this WOULD explain why they look so human but after thousands or hundreds of thousands years of augmentation and genetic alteration that lead to their current appearance and this would be just to mess with everyone or make everyone hate the humans and you can deliver this by explaining this to the captured Asari before she “escapes” with the new information it would also be cool if you showed her a city that the empire built to show how advanced they are as well as show that they have great taste for art or perhaps to make a deal with her and if she does what the empire says she can live not as a slave but not a as a citizen of course just survival but would not be allowed to breed and make more Asari

I was kind of excited to read this, until I got to the bottom of the first chapter. I have played the games to 100% completion (the trilogy, but not Andromeda), and I know for a fact the Titian’s don’t have even ONE TRILLION ANYTHING. Hell, the entire mass effect galaxy, other than machine races and likely the rachni, has never even reached 1 trillion mixed races population at any given time, except, perhaps, when the Leviathans first created the Reapers. They don’t have annoyed, because AI paranoia, or UAV/HKD, because ‘Humans’ introduced them to ME. This is Xenophobic, what seems like Fanatic Purifier humanity, vs ME, which wouldn’t be able to even comprehend most of Stellaris’ tech because ‘It’s impossible, Eezo can’t reproduce that’. The Turian numbers seem to have been multiplied tenfold, at least, from actual numbers, and the stagnancy of ME Tech would cause them to lose to ANY sufficiently tiered Civ from Stellaris in, at minimum, months. I haven’t even reached Chapter 2, and the end of 1 has already dissuaded me from reading it. If you had at least put in that ME was going to be completely AU, I might give it a try.

There was a lot of unnecessary dialogue in this chapter I feel like.

there is zero use of any smart tactics making the space battles rather stupid.
there is so much inane chatter that i skipped most of it cause honestly it was just plain boring.

the start was not bad and you had me honestly excited, but that stopped very quickly

humans serving on a turian vessel, torpedos that dont bend their approach but turn a forgotten first contact.

It's good, but please dont have the citadel races Being able to reverse engineer tech in days/easy, the tech would be vastly different to element zero tech I don't think they would understand it
