... To be honest, I think I can understand why Emma is so bad at comforting other people. She just doesn't have the innate ability to sympathize or empathize with other people, especially those with so different life view from hers, or at least, she can't even try to see things from their perspective. So when something happens for a reason that she thinks doesn't make sense, or at least, she won't accept, she automatically thinks the person in question as an idiot. At least Innes being grouchy is because he doesn't have tact, but I found Emma to be just so narrow-minded at times.

I... would usually review when I want to ask something, or at the latest chapter of this series, but I somehow just want to say what I think of this novelization for now. To be honest, out of all your main character OCs, Emma would be the one I'm not fond the most, for now. She's heavily biased against Ephraim, I can understand, but she basically just blame him for everything she has suffered because he is convenient, and yet use different reasons to justify it. That's no longer brutal honesty, that's just prejudice up to eleven. Well, that said, I will still read this till the end. Won't be the first story I read where I detach myself from the story and just be an observer.

Oh, wow, I forgot just how terrifying Lyon/Fomortiis can be when he gets serious. Great job, and I look forward to seeing what happens next/

I hope you can finish Records of Valiant soon. I can't wait for the ending! (And the dread of Lyon being kill)

This was a wonderful chapter! Thank you for updating. The game has wonderful characters and you do such a wonderful job keeping them in character while fleshing them out! The way Emma processes emotions is very realistic. I will say I am not a fan of the Emma romance but meh. I think I am just biased against Ephriam (I was secretly cheering for Joshua way back in the story haha). Hour writing is great though! I kinda of hope L'Archel goes for Innes; that would be fun teasing because he gets irritated so easily!
In some twisted way, I secretly miss Valter. I have a personal issue of getting my characters getting 'kidnapped and scarred for life's syndrome in my own stories. The constant dread factor is always compelling but Halter DOES die.
I would love to have more from some of our other characters rather than the royals. I am glad you give little mentions of them here and there but I would love to see more! I miss some of Lute's quirkiness! Hopefully there will be more action with Knoll and Saleh. I am sure they could have some interestimg insight (Knoll is one of my favorites because he gives us more information on Lyon).
I am looking forward to more Lyon interaction! He has such a complex character; I wish we could have a peek into his internal struggle/Love for Eiricka.

Oh wow that WAS short! I can't remember any chapter of anything you've written being this short! And I'd forgotten just how far into the game we were. I actually started replaying Sacred Stones because of this, but I feel like I kind of got spoiled by Awakening/Fates. I know that Sacred Stones is easy enough to grind as well, but it's the principle of it, right?

Aw, Myrhh's costume. I must agree about the breather, nobody could fight on forever. Especially not in the state Valter left them in.

I must say, despite my glaring lack of commentary this is a truly fine story. I think it has my overall favourite cast, thanks to Brynhildr, Ephraim, Seth, Myrhh, Cormag and Lyon. Funny, almost all dragon-related. Guess we'll have to make Ephraim and Seth honorary dragons/wyvern riders.

It's been a long time since I headcanoned, but... I think Brynhildr is almost like an adoptive mother to Emma. Not exactly a replacement, just to some degree she's naturally gone into the role of caring and supporting her the way a parent might, and defending her from harm and loving her unconditionally. I wonder if Brynhildr knew that that was the kind of person Emma was missing in her life? Side note, Magvel wyverns are some of the most wholesome and loving killing machines I've ever known and I want the best for all of them. Respect goes out to Evaicrag too, even if he chose a path that enabled horrible things.

I think Emma would get along really well with Celica, by the way.

Valter's death felt very cathartic. Thanks for that. Emma actually shooting Cormag to save him from the lance was a cool little moment, and it felt very real. And, as usual, the pre- and post-battle stuff was great. Nice job, and I look forward to the next chapter!

That scene with Cormag and the cursed lance reminds me of Greil and the medallion in Path of Radiance. You did a great job with this chapter, especially that scene (as well as character interaction in general).

Okay, since this was Emma's third time getting that close to Valter, I was legitimately terrified that something awful would happen. I am SO relieved that she managed to escape, and even stab that maniac. Also, I will admit to grinning like an idiot when Emma and Ephraim made up. Considering all that happened at the end of last chapter and throughout this one, I think we all needed a positive end to the chapter. Great work, and I look forward to Valter's death.
