simple, sweet and heartwarming. just what i needed for "my time" of the month. the voice is very comforting in a sense and it fits the plot of this piece. i think you did a great job at handling this topic ! keep it up !

There is nothing "gross" about a woman's period, it's a simple fact of life and female biology. Although I never married, I've also bought tampons and pads for my mother, my own sister, and my girlfriends - and I never considered the notion that it made me less 'masculine' to do so. (I even suggested to my brother that he buy flowers for his daughter when she went through her first period.)
I think that if you really love and care for the women in your life, it's appropriate to kind of 'baby' them a bit during these sensitive monthly times to show that you care. I'm happy to say that my present girlfriend/partner always appreciated it until she went through menopause over ten years ago.
And remember - if women didn't have periods, there wouldn't be any babies!

I can actually see Lincoln doing all of this to help his sisters. This was a nice story.
