Reviews for Deal with the Devil
dg.sangita chapter 1 . 9/10/2017
Why all the time Dean keeps forgiving people who never choose him. This was a very good story. I would love a story where Dean does not forgive so easily...

Excellent. I too thought he didn't respond in character. Favorite line:. "Chuck knows..." .

Finally someone thinks like I do, that Dean should be hurt and angry! Thank you for writing this. Personally I think Dean's just too nice of a guy and it will only end in heartbreak for him once again.

Great job writing the conversation I think should have happened on screen!

JoAnne chapter 1 . 3/12/2017
Thank you. I truly think Dean is hurting from all of these secrets. First, Mom chose to be with the BMoL because, what, they were more successful? She wanted to side on the winning team? I just keep thinking, as a Mom, if I came back to life and reunited with my sons, even though I don't "know" them, I would want to take the time to get to know them. Even if the desire to hunt is strong, I'd still want to be by my sons instead of telling them someone else has a better way. Both Dean & Sam were hurt at this deception, but they were still together, still a team. Mary weakly starts to apologize, and Dean forgives her, quickly thinking they are back to being a family unit again. All Dean has ever wanted is family. Now this happens with Sam. Sure, as Dean said at the end, they have had strange pairings (him & Crowley, Cas & Crowley...), but, like you wrote so well, Dean HAS to feel the sting of Sam keeping yet another secret from him. You wrote this beautifully and I could hear them speaking your words. I sort of wonder, what may look like Dean rolling over in his quick forgiveness is actually Dean masking his hurt at what may feel like his family turning on him?

Totally agree with you - I was with Dean all the way at the start of The Raid and felt the end of that episode was OOC for Dean. Now he's rolling over again for Sam. I hoped he would chuck both of them out.
