Reviews for Tamers Forever 05: Silent Sorrow
greivergf chapter 19 . 2/14/2017
This is the best Digimon Tamers story I have ever read!
I have loved Tamers Forever since I found this was finished and have read it 50-odd times and I hope that you will someday upload the Gospel series here too.
I hope to read more of your stories soon.

A very nice and well done chapter to a great story.

Dude, I know that this story is really old. And you may never read this. But that was a badass story. I mean it felt like I just watched another season of tamers. And I mean that in the best way possable. Thank you for making such a great story and I hope gospel is just as good. Rectco forever

Thank you for having such rich and deep characters as well as intriguing scenes and awesome battles in this fanfic! I loved it and I like how you have wrote about the interactions between the characters which were so heartwarming and heartwrenching at the same time. Definitely one of the best Digimon Fanfics I have read in the series, and I sincerely wish you would continue with more chapters within GOSPEL.

Speaking of GOSPEL...why is it deleted? (I am sorry to hear that.)

Bravo, my friend, bravo!

Although there is still some stigma regarding fanfiction (understatement much?), I do believe than among the very best of them one can find some of the most imaginative and passionate examples of writing in current pop culture. Of all the stories I’ve read in the last few years, an amazing amount of them were fanfics and most (because I only go into those I’ve researched and found interesting) were amazingly good and fun to read. I’ve even managed to get into stuff that I wasn’t a fan of. Case in point, Tamers Forever.

I wasn’t a real fan of Digimon when it aired, although I came to respect the show as I eventually learned more about it. But after seeing so many recommendations to this tale of yours across the Net I decided to try it out and boy I wasn’t disappointed.

First the technical stuff. You’ve grown amazingly as a writer, and these last chapters of Silent Sorrow do read like any good book. It’s well-written, witty, and with loads of action. You still make some mistakes, typos and such, but in general you’ve became quite good technically.

Regarding the plot itself, well, it’s somewhat clichéd but the execution is amazing. The characters are well-fleshed out and in certain points I was actually almost moved to tears (a very difficult feat I might say). I really liked what you did with the TV show’s characters, making them believable humans (and the Digimon believable “people”, albeit not truly human). I must say that this story actually moved me and I truly identified with much of what you’ve written. I’m quite similar to some of these people. I was one of those cases where I can say I truly enjoyed the story and couldn’t drop it until I was over with it, especially Silent Sorrow.

I find your choice of mythology rather interesting. I’m not, and probably never will be, a religious person, but I do consider the Abrahamic Mythology quite a very fascinating one. Again I do think you did a good job in mixing it with Digimon (although the franchise already had strong elements of it in there), but I must say that a certain points it became a little jarring, as Digimon and pure Abrahamic myths seemed to not mix all that well. There was a slight sense of non-belonging sometimes. But I’m starting to nitpick, probably.

All in all a great show you’ve put, my friend. I’m eager to start Gospel.

I'm so glad that your not ending it like that cause that would have been like a huge cliffhanger. I still liked the series and that isn't gonna stop me from liking it but still that cliffhanger would have been a killer. I can't wait to read Gospel, I'm really looking forward to it and I can't wait to see Taichi in action. Though just a question? Why don't you upload Gospel on Fanfiction?

In any case, I apologize for this fragmented review. The whole chaos/asmodeus/takato thing kind of came out of left field and, though it smelled of Mary Sue, I actually like what you did with it.

I'm also unsure how I feel about you bringing leomon back, but it's been handled far worse in other fics. The prevalence of OCs at first bothered me a bit, but you didn't let them overshadow the main cast, I applaud you on that.

Over all I was glad I read the series, but it leaves me with one question... Where is Gospel? I can't find it on your profile. I've read the gardens of Babylon and the ruins of Babylon, but aside from sharing an OC (takako), I don't believe it is the same universe as Tamers Forever. I enjoyed gardens and the incomplete ruins story, but I'd really like to read Gospel due to all the hanging plot threads from tamers forever. I'd really appreciate it if you could email me with a way to find and read Gospel. You can reach me at . Thank you.

Hello Daneel, I'd like to start this review by saying I've read the entire tamers forever series, and though I felt it had a rough start, it was enjoyable to see you grow as a writer over the course of 5 'books'. I did take slight issue with your characterization of Rika, as I feel you overplayed her tsundere traits. While in the source material she certainly is a tsundere (type b I'm fairly sure), it just feels exaggerated in this series, especially her tendency to hit takato (which I'm fairly sure never happened in the series proper). And though I am a rukato fan, I don't like the way you kind of dumped Jeri onto Henry with no real build up.

The whole Chaos/asmodeus
