I think some of the reasons why so many people go for int wis in "the gamer" fics is because of the original source material, liking op wizard builds, and how dumb jaune is. Simply put being able to cast spells is cool.

But even if they didnt just focus int and wis they should put a couple of points into it. He's going to a school, and he could use the knowledge on how to best use his aura. Even the ones that focus physical should learn mastery of aura, quantity, recovery, and control to shaolin monk their way to victory.

I personally dont like the addition of mana and would keep to aura being to reinforcement agent it is but some people like being overly over powered.

Also there are some games that do it right and need a certain level of int to learn spells, or decipher a text, build an item, or even dumb down corperate speak to be easily readable.
