This was such a bitter sweet ending, but at least Kathrin died saving her family and friends, and at least she's remembered by everyone. This was a really nice story.

This is a really interesting twist on Kathrin's backstory-that she's this living soul. I like how you keep adding to the lore of how magic works in this universe. And that last scene was really sweet. Of course they'll take care of her no matter what she is.

An interesting revelation, which raises more questions.
How can the wolves find and devour other souls but can't sense Kathrin?
And why use a whip to fight evil spirits/souls?
