When I first started this, I wasn't expecting much. I'm definitely into the premise, I too know the joy of tormenting favorite characters. But I presumed the method to be weak at first. Hallucinations of him killing his friends? Sounds kind of cheesy to me. Take a look at Room 1408. Now that's how you break someone. The first instance didn't grab me. But that first dream sequence was really well done. I'm all about twisted mind mechanics, and you described his dream logic pretty well. After he woke up in that class, all shaking and spooked, I realized I had got chills too as well.

I really like how everyone's concerned from him. I also really like Odd's justifications for not telling anybody, totally irrational, yet making perfect sense for his character. I've read another fanfic with a similar premise a little while ago. Suffice to say, it wasn't very good. The bare bone reasons for Odd not going to anyone for help were not believable to me. I feared something similar would happen here. While I was mentally yelling at Odd to get help in both cases, it wasn't out of horrid, disbelieving frustration.

As for characterization, it seems to be the hardest thing for me to buy in most of these fanfics, though I find you did a very good job here.

Now I am wondering where this is going. The ending of this chapter has me very intrigued as to where this is going. I am now following this story, something I do not do very often. I am looking forward to the next chapter.

poor odd, but past experienc shown them, that xana doesn't need permanent activation to attack, just the time to launch it , like with nanites for ulrich.
would like to see more than usual nightmare and visions, like XANA secretely taking odd to perform another invasive experiment.
