I have no idea if I ever reviewed this story, though I've read it several times over the years (seriously, 5 or 6 times since 2016). I just wanna say it's WONDERFUL. I usually stay away from original characters in fanfics, but Regan's pretty compelling. Plus I love how you manage to weave the different stories together. Not a big fan of Neil Gorton either, he comes off as sleazy as hell in the show so it's not too much of a stretch he'd pull of something like this. But it makes sense the only thing he'd really care about is his daughter. The only thing I object to is Abbie having jumped into bed with Jack. I wish they'd just been friends. Sexless friends. But that's just me. Everything else is perfect.

Always so many subtle references to canon that I am afraid I will forget to praise them all! The reference to Hawthorne was believable and would definitely have gone through Jack's mind in a conversation like the one you wrote.

His secret relief at not being asked to leave his life in NYC to follow Regan on her trips is reasonable and speaks of Jack's age, as well as the passion in is life that will always take the fore front, personal relationships will not change that.

Huge deal for Jack to clearly tell her not to go...too bad it isn't going to be enough.

Really wanted to see these two have a happily ever after, but that would have been contrary to the characters ...well characterizations :)

All I can hope for now is a sequel (which, since I was so late reviewing, I already know is in the works). Really outstanding story. I, like several others would've LOVED to see this series acted out on either the big or small screen...even an audio book would have been FUN!

Really sweet piece that convincingly conveys the awkwardness of starting a live in relationship... btw,I am with Regan on the whites/colors separation rationale.

Just painful to see Regan still hesitating to completely trust her heart, even though she has a numerous supply of good reasons not to.

You, Mistress off McCoy Writing, are a big tease...but in a good way. Nice way to bring Tom "back to life", so to speak.

Very nicely done. Good of you to save something so bittersweet, yet in the end hopeful and Gorton's disillusioning actions. You did take me by surprise with Tom. Wow. Very real situation done very realistic emotions for a woman like Abbie.
