Awesome! I hope you continue this, for this exact thing is something I soooo wish could've happened in the show! It's not just you who has lots of feelings about Bismuth... TT
But yeah, VERY well written, you captured the characters beautifully and did them a great justice, and I love the development of the relationships the original Crystal Gems had- very believable and interesting. I look forward to seeing more! Especially between Bismuth and Pearl! As well as the idea of healing the corrupted gems, I always get excited when fanfics delve into that important topic. ;)
So yeah, absolutely loved it and I hope to see more soon!

Good story, should continue it.
Evil Witch chapter 2 . 10/15/2016
This was lovely. I REALLY wanted Bismuth to be redeemed, and to be a Crystal Gem again. I especially love how Connie is becoming more confident in her fighting skills and around gem stuff, and how she immediately was ready to fight Bismuth when they first met. I also like how the gems treated their old friend, pointing out her mistakes (such as when she went behind their backs, isolating Steven and Connie to test them) but still offering to forgive and understand. I would say that is very canonical, and not pic at all. I would Love to read more of this series. Please keep up the good work! :)
Guest Gem chapter 2 . 10/13/2016
Well it looks like I may have spoken a bit too soon with regards to avoiding PTSD, but at least characters are recovering.

Also, what an interesting way to reconcile Bismuth's presence with canon events between her episode and "Mindful Education".

There was also the ending notes on corrupted gems, Centi, and the possibility of healing her and the others which I really liked as well. I suppose we'll have to wait for the canon show to get its rear in gear and churn out more juicy revelations before we get a sequel to this story, but I trust it will be worth the wait.

In the meantime, all I will state is a theory regarding Lapis and what might happen if Bismuth meets her:

1. Foremost, from the flashback in "Same Old World" Lapis was poofed by a Bismuth that very well could have been "ours", especially since "our" Bismuth had a notable military roles like blacksmithing and fighting.

2. Bismuth has stated her irrational hatred for gems of "upper crust noble aristocracy". There are a number of hints that Lapis is such an "upper crust noble aristocracy" gem, at least back during the Rebellion:
-Images of homeworld-terraformed planets may suggest that Homeworld, which is running low on resources, is similarly structured and may lack oceans, lakes, rivers, etc. This would mean that Lapis Lazulis would not be NEARLY as powerful on Homeworld or other colonies outside of water-wing flying and mirror-recollection.
-From "The Answer", one of the silhouetted gems of Blue Diamond's court looks very suspiciously like a Lapis Lazuli in body shape, gem shape, and gem location. "Our" Lapis has a blue coloration and a Blue Diamond symbol on her outfit, meaning that this silhouette could very well have been her.
-Like Sapphire, Lapis Lazulis might also be rare, and this, combined with (at least "Silhouette" and/or our Lapis') non-combat-appearing dress/outfit and otherwise "weak/useless" abilities outside of mirror-recollection, would make them likely to be regarded as little more than rare/fancy gems not nearly as common enough to serve as servants like Pearls (and apparently not too important such that Homeworld had few qualms about leaving her as Peridot's informant, even if they both got a "legendary perfect Jasper" escort...).

3. Taken altogether, the irrational-hatred-suffering and easily-consumed-by-the-angry-haze-of-battle Crystal-Gem Bismuth might have easily recognized an "upper class aristocratic noble" gem like Lapis who was NOT obviously on the Crystal Gem's side and proceeded to immediately attack her.

Hence why any future meeting between your Bismuth and the "aloof ally" Lapis is bound to be quite interesting in any sequel you do make. See you around!

Queenie2008 chapter 2 . 10/4/2016
Nice! That was a satisfying read. I think this story would hold up a sequel very well. I wonder what will come in the future... You wrote the characters really well. :)
DragShot chapter 2 . 10/4/2016
Excellent. Bismuth's interaction with other characters is something very appreciated around here, and I love how the ending gives place to hope.

Nice job!
