"Burst of wildfire" was probably my favorite little turn of phrase in this last installment.

I adore this story to pieces. Your skill is on full display in these letters. Nothing feels dull or over-explained. You're telling, but it feels so much like you're showing, and I love the letters as a framing device to flip that narrative tool on its head. Your grasp on the period prose is strong to the point that it feels natural and effortless, and your attention to detail paints a vivid enough picture that I feel like I'm watching it unfold. Robin and Regina feel distinctly like themselves even though they're in an AU - which, again, is a testament to skill - but you really capture the essence of them as a pairing in this piece as a whole. What they meant to one another here is so frightfully reflective of the canon - of reigniting hope and second chances - that I just kind of want to faceplant into a pillow and D I E.

I love this story. It's lovely how you tell the story through letters. I love the family they've made and the acceptance they offer each other!

I was so happy to see you updated this. It is one of my favorite verses of yours! And every word was perfect from the bottom to the top. I am so glad they are happy. The way you write them each is just fantastic and I can imagine exactly how they sit down and write the letters into the diary and to each other. You capture each of them perfectly. And I love how you tells so much of the story through them and their eyes. Inviting Mary Margaret to the wedding was just such a kind idea. I hope she and David will get together. Thank you so much for writing! This was the best early Christmas gift.

I binge read this for the last couple of days and my God, it's exquisite! It's a different form of writing and I was never a fan of the use of first person in stories, but this is not one of those cases! I'm amazed at how you used their letters to each other to actually reveal their complete story and its evolution to your readers and I'm even more amazed at the use of such formal language as the one people were accustomed to using in those years. It's truly remarkable writing and it's given me so many images in my head, especially their wedding which I was seeing it as I was reading it and I was obviously crying my eyes out cause DAMN YOU SHOW FOR NEVER GIVING US SUCH A THING UGH! again, fantastic work! thank you for sharing it!

oh, laura. laura, laura, laura. this was gorgeous from start to finish. i'm in awe of how much you can convey in a handful of letters. i feel the longing and the anticipation of these characters as though it were my own; your words just suck me completely in! you've created such a vivid world with these two, and i'm honored that they should've gotten married on the occasion of my birthday :):)
