I had just finished the show on Netflix and it just crushed me and it crushed me even more when I looked the show up to see when the second season would come out that the show was cancelled and I came here to fanfiction to see if someone had made a happier ending. Sigh. This was exactly what I need. I just binged Containment on Netflix and I was absolutely devastated about Katie. Ugly ugly crying. I like how you kept the same plot but rescued Katie from her fate. If you hadn't of written this I might have had to. Thank you for fixing Jake and Katie's story.

This is great, thank you for doing this. I just finished the season yesterday and I was crying when she died. It made me not even want to watch the show anymore, I've been sad about it ever since. That was a terrible thing to do to Jake. Your version is perfect, please keep going with it.

I literally just finished watching this show on Netflix and I cried so hard after Katie died. Then they kept showing glimpses of her or Jake just mentioning her got me tearing up all over again. After the last scene, the first thing I did was search for alternate endings to the show and then I stumbled across this and thank goodness I did because I needed it. Thank you so very much for writing this. I'll just pretend this is how the show actually happened. If you continue to write more I will definitely be reading. Good luck and thanks again!

hi, I was also really sad that they make her die eve if if understand that it would feel the soryline. They don't want this to be too easy, like all the good character get to survive. Anyways, thanks for the alternate version, i wish you would keep writing, i would love to see jake and lex reuniting, lex meeting katie etc.. best wishes

Holy cow dude! This was really good. I am curious as to why so many viewers found Katie's death so hard to get over. I mean, it happens in shows all the time. Why was this one so different? What do u think made this particular fictional characters death so hard to deal with? On any note, this was a brilliant alternate ending. There is a petition for Netflix to pick up the show for season 2. I think it would be good if they refilmed the lat 3 episodes of season 1 with your script and then go into a second season. This show would be a brilliant show if they did. Another possible alternative is of now that Lex is in the Cordon season 2 starts off with him looking for Jake only to find out that Jake has had a psychotic breakdown as a result of everything he went through. The breakdown took place after canneed told him he didn't want to see Katie die. After he left the room he collapsed and went into a coma of sorts. Every scene from then on was a hallucination on his part. So when season 2 begins Jake is in a coma, Katie has actually survived, and the scene of her death plus all the stuff he did after have all been a dream he has had during this psychotic episode. From there the season can begin exploring more of his past as they work to not only cure the virus but also bring Jake back from his breakdown. It would be amazing the moment he finally comes to and realizes Katie is still alive and that her death nor any of the other scenes involving him after had ever actually happened. Not only would those be an amazong twist to the story line but it would give the writers a catalyst to launch into a second season that would be worth watching because it leads you straight into some pretty deep character developments. On any note, someone should start a petition for Netflix to either refilm the last 3 episodes of season 1 and have a season 2 or to leave season 1 as is and introduce a sort of breakdown for Jake. On any note this show has no hope for a future if Katie remains dead. Her death alone was the death of the show. I honestly don't know what the heck the writers were thinking. Seriously, ur storyline is way better. How come they have a job and u don't? Haha. On any note, here is my request. Write more! I'm loving these :D

Thank you such much for writing this great alternate ending to Kate and Jake's epic love story. I fell in love with this couple and also cried many tears when they killed her off. I'm so glad I have your story to replace the horrendous tragedy the show portrayed with something hopeful and in keeping with what those two characters so richly deserved.
