I think this might be the first Dead Air story that I actually like. You gave us your interpretation of that episode without bashing any characters. Dead Air and Dog Tags are a few episodes that just did NOT sit right with me. It is SO ooc how the characters were written that I tend to just skip over those episodes when watching. Good perspective.

I love when writers tackle the Dead Air episode because it validates what I always thought which is that episode was garbage. As is clearly shown Tony is my favorite character, but not for the obvious reasons, I enjoy Tony so much because Weatherly took what writers made a one dimensional character and infused it with life. I love Tony for all his complexities. He is charming and handsome but he bleeds vulnerability, he is also a jack ass. For all those who try to justify the turning off of the mike as a joke by naming all the times that Tony was inappropriate, which I can agree was quite often, here is the MAJOR difference, it was never find out in the field where lives are on the line. Trust is huge when it comes to people having your back and to call that trust into question even if they really didn't turn off the sound just isn't okay.

I love that you addressed that, I love that not everything was solved quickly and that real work has to be done to fix the relationship. I love that Gibbs had the correct reaction, disgust and dismay, and that he owned up to his part in creating this mess. I hope something in the future there is another one shot showing then working on their relationship and Abby's reaction to the "prank" ;-)
