I could kind of tell in the last three chapters that you rushed them a little...perhaps just needed to get those chapters out. Always know that what is happening your life comes first and everyone else can wait. This story was amazing and I see those 94 reviews at the top and see them to mean that we would wait for you. Just like a long awaiting sequel to a popular book series...we just wait. Remember that for your next amazing story and take that time to tell the story the way you truly want to tell it. No need to rush...we will wait :) I truly hope everything for you is going better.

Um yep...me again at chapter 22 and still reading like there is no tomorrow! I do wish like you must, that the writers of this show would spend more time on what happened to Jay and how he is dealing with everything from getting shot, tortured, and shot again...they always seem to brush over everything so quickly. Thank you for taking the time to write this story how we want them to write a Halstead episode.

Oh I am just at chapter three of this incredible story and you are SOOOOOO good and keeping us on the edge of our seats about what may or may not have happened to Jay. You sure you don't write professionally? Because you should be!

Moving ending. Raw and real. Making a contrast between Matt’s tragic suicide and Jay’s choice to keep going. I applaud you for taking on this subject and writing a story about trauma, fear, love and hope. Jay felt supported and hopeful in the end and that’s the best we could have hoped for after what he went through. I’m glad he has progressed so far in his communication with Will and Erin. And I’m really glad that despite the triggers, despite this horrible case that could have pushed him over the edge, he chose to hold on.

I’m glad Jay was able to reach the boy and gain his trust through honesty and empathy. And I like that he is more open with Erin now. What an ass his dad is.

Oh Jay. He broke my heart. How incredibly difficult to navigate all the emotions, not only related to what he went through but also before that and feeling like he deserved it. I’m glad Will is there for him.

That was an amazing chapter. I loved the brother's talk. You showed that although Will wacted to .brother he knew when to back off and let him figure for himself. Great job - more brothers please x

I hope things are going better for you! I really like this fic, as tough as the topic is. This chapter showed that Jay has good and bad days and good and bad moments, and that recovery is a long process. I hope he finds a solution to his sleeping problem. And interesting that you included Abby here. Curious to see how you’ll do it.

I think there should be more Will and Jay moments.

What a heartbreaking chapter. What Jay went through was horrific and it makes me so sad to see him suffering because of what these animals did to him. I'm so glad he told Erin though and I loved what she said to him. She was very loving and supportive and I'm glad she now knows everything. Hopefully she can help Jay more now, being there for him, knowing exactly how he feels. I'm curious to see if Jay will go back to work and how it will go.

He's opening up to her! Yes! This is so lovely. I'm so glad he has progressed so much that he is able to say all that. Even though he's not less of a man at all, I understand why all his insecurities are making him feel like that. Imm so glad Erin is there for him every step of the way. Looking forward to reading more of his story, as painful as I know it will be. Always appreciate seeing these updates :)
