ahhh i’m so happy you updated! took me a couple days to get to this chapter because i wanted to re-read the WHOLE story before, but i’m so glad i did. i love this story so much, i can’t wait for the next update and to see what happens with jenna!

I AM LIVINGGGGG FOR THIS! Honestly, the whole bit of Jenna explaining our world to them is so fucking fun and interesting, I could read it forever! I find myself trying to think up ways to explain simple things like planes! And I'm just like Hell even I don't know how they work XD But i love itttttt and how everyone is either blown away or skeptical af- Kili trying to rationalize with magic is adorable lol. But then how Jenna was like "we have killed millions in our wars... whole species, even the land will kill you!" O_O Like damn. She right tho! It makes sense that she'd worry about spurring industrialization- Tolkien's ghost would fucking rise XD

I love how you tackled the gold sickness and related it to mental illness! It makes sense. I wonder what diagnosis it would come closest to... But I love how Thorin was worried about how people saw his family. I mean they're prob the only known case of a genetic mental illness. I'm glad he knows Jenna isn't judging him or the Durins, and I hope he finds out how she can relate. It's another thing that draws them closer- aND WHEN THEIR LEGS TOUCHED OMASGHJAH! Thats some Jane Austen touch starved longing you've got me on!

And also, good lord, we love to torture our girls don't we? Poor Jenna and those nightmares! Baby girl D:

Loved this chapter! Jenna’s reaction to Dwalin was so great! When he tells her that he’s not made of daisies I just had to laugh! I could totally hear him saying that as i read it. Thorin’s playful sarcasm was amazing. They’re bonding slowly and it’s so nice. Kili teasing her at the end was the perfect cherry on top. All in all, excellent chapter! Cant wait to read more.

I'm so glad to see an update from you! Although I hate to think you're spiraling or pushing yourself to update - take your time, it makes the more sporadic updates that much more of a pleasant surprise! I've really gotten emotionally attached to Jenna in ways I haven't for most fanfic characters- her feelings of insecurity and anxiety are written so well that they're really relatable, and all I want now is for her to find her confidence. As much as I'm here for the slow burn romantic moments with Thorin, I'm surprised to find how much I'm just here to see Jenna grow :)

I also really like the concept of body image in this chapter -that the ideal body would be so different both for dwarves vs humans but also for the modern world vs a medieval world, where being physically bigger means a greater chance of survival. Although now I want to find a fanfic about a bearded lady who's ridiculed in the real world and falls into Middle Earth and finds her confidence among a group of dwarves and oh no I'm going to have to write this aren't I?
