That is terrific and your Peter is wonderfully written: fear, feeling of helplessness (so very much hard for him) and an angry guilt (his reply to Hughes shows it so well)... and family love. Neal’s fond smile at the end is the perfect ending of your wonderful story, thanks!

You have Peter and Neal perfectly and it works well. I love the lines about the blankets, that at first they are cruel in this horrible harsh room and later, when Neal is healing, the blankets bring warmth. Very good, that's what matters (I can work around typos!)

Oh my God... I remember reading this before getting out of bed one morning, and it's so mindblowingly amazing. Like, pure gold. So intense, so much worry and helplessness and heartache. I love love *love* how you write White Collar stories, but you really outdid yourself with this one. Your doesn't-take-any-BS -Diana was awesome, the dialogues between Peter and Neal fantastic, and the overall characterization superb. A zillion kudos to you, like wow. I enjoyed it immensely (in case you can't tell, lol). I'd happily read more of the like, if you ever felt up for it.
