I think it'd be cool if you had Rin hold some kind of dominion over lesser demons that weren't considered worthy enough to be kin to royal blood in Gehenna. Rin always struck me as the kind who would sympathize with anyone or anything that felt unwanted or inferior, and since he doesn't appear to feel like he fully belongs in either the human or the demon world, I can easily see him try to make his own way, regardless of what his relatives consider appropriate or entirely respectable.
I don't have a particular species in mind but it could be multiple kinds, and that would give you freedom to get creative with creature types :)
Also, I'd recommend trying to think outside the box in terms of Rin's power. He clearly has blue flames like their father, but I imagine that to be different than whatever Iblis has, so I wouldn't put too much into his specialty in terms of fire itself. Rather, I'd try brainstorming something that makes USE of his flames or can be represented by them indirectly. For example, he could be called the Demon King of Change or Conversion or something (based on the sciences of how heat and flame plays a part in turning a material or substance into something else - But really it can refer to how he might change things around him for the better of everyone, not just to better suit those more powerful.) Sort of a double-meaning thing. Just as Mephisto's title is broad enough for many possibilities, it could be the same for Rin. That would work with the fact that he's always been of special interest to the demons, as well as reflect Mephisto's influence over him all this time.

Thanks for the update, and fillers are okay, just as long as it isn't 100% filler. Then that's kind of annoying. Anyway, glad to see you're back at it!
