Lovely storyline; looking forward to your update :)

I originally discovered this story on the age of Edward contest page. I did a search and was happy to see that more had been written beyond that one chapter. But please don't leave it here. I would love to read how this story would progress. Please update it soon.

Poor Esme! I couldn't do the steam presses! When I was in my forties, we needed more money and I got a job in a factory that made plastic bags for newspapers. It was the graveyard shift, midnight to 7, so my hubby could be at home with our four boys. It was very noisy, so music or talking wasn't practical. We had to stand on a concrete floor and carefully tend to the machines. One half-hour break with everyone sitting in a crowded break room eating what they brought. The lady training me was at least 10 years older than me. I felt like a weakling! I think it was about $7 per hour to start. But I couldn't last. After 2 shifts I thanked them and quit. My back and feet probably could have adjusted, I suppose. But everyone was very nice!

Interesting about "kike" and Ellis Island. I wonder what kind of a character Royce is going to be? And I noticed that a McCarty family lives in Bella's building. Hmmm.

Wow! Great descriptions of working in the garment district sweatshops. Edward walks her home and the rest will be history! I really want more chapters and the rest of the story! Your story was one of my top three in the Age of Edward contest. I voted for it. I came back to review and saw that you are continuing it! That's great!

I love the growing affection between Edward and Bella, even if they weren't together in this chapter. Just the fact that they were looking for each other in the crows made me a little giddy.

I'm so nervous about the strike and coming events. I looked up the time and place when this was in the contest and I know of the forthcoming...thing. I don't want to post any spoilers. But I'm still very nervous about how that all turns out.

I usually don't read WIP fics, because I'm just too impatient, glad to see you are going to continue writing. It's really sad, thinking about the horrible conditions these workers were forced to endure and even more knowing that while in some places this has changed, there are still people in the world that are going through this at this moment.
