  Clare chapter 5 . 5/27 What a fabulously angsty fanfic! The thought of losing Maria to a serious illness would give the Captain a jolt and make him confront any feelings he had for her. I was in tears when he went to the children at Maria's request and realised he couldn't neglect them all over again. It was heartbreaking the way they all hugged and cried together as a family and then sang the songs Maria had taught them :( But hooray for happy endings and thank goodness romance won the day :) |

Loved how Maria explained the time when she was out - punishment, nightmare, dream...and he brought her back. Love the way she said she'd tell him when she fell in love if he was good. Also Frau Schmidt's wink. |
