| loonymarauder chapter 9 . 6/22/2018 I agree. Though we don’t actually see Mary tell Matthew what happened, we only see his reaction. So I often wonder exactly what she told him. Because I agree, even with the attitude towards rape and sexual assault in general back then I have trouble seeing Matthew not blaming Pamuk. Perhaps that was supposed to be the implication of his saying there was nothing to forgive. It bothers me every time I watch it that everyone blames Mary for sleeping with a man who forced himself upon her. I know she “let him” but only because she knew she couldn’t stop him. And she probably would have been just as slandered if she had screamed. |
| loonymarauder chapter 8 . 6/22/2018 I’m so glad you left most of the dialogue from Mary breaking up with Sir Richard! The Dowager in that, “Do you promise?” Is one of my favorites. In fact it might be my favorite insult of hers. Definitely one of my top 3 favorite scenes. But anyway, the slight AU changes work well with the story. |

| Historical Obsessions chapter 40 . 7/15/2016 Loved the idea behind this story and, for someone who doesn't normally read Matthew/Mary fics, I really enjoyed it! It made me cry on multiple occasions, Mary was beautifully written. I also loved the inclusion of Daisy and William having a healthy, lasting relationship as it really hasn't been written much. | Guest chapter 40 . 7/10/2016 Loved that Tom did so well at the cricket match but felt sorry for Matthew feeling sad that he couldnt play. Have loved this unusual and well written story so much and am greatly looking forward to the sequel. Hope Matthew and Mary manage to have a baby and that you find a way to keep Tom and Sybil around. The interaction betwen both couples is great. |
