Cute, but it ignores the core rules of "What if"'s. They have to take into regard all that happened/s except the base premise; in this case "What if John had not gone missing.". John not ditching Dean, would not change Azazel's plans. It would not have prevented Sam from gaining visions and it would not have prevented Jessica's death.

Still, cute story.
